Senses of Autumn time

I can see leaves changing colour and falling to the ground.

beautiful shades of red ,orange and yellow, all around.

I can feel the air getting cooler, a chill in the breeze,

the gust of the wind as it blows through the trees.

I hear the giggle of happy children as they trick or treat.

Crackles from the fire, crunch of the leaves beneath my feet.

The smell of Pumpkins as they are scraped and calved,

and smoke from the bonfires, as they’re lit for Guy Fawkes,

I can taste the sweet toffee apples, hot chocolate topped with marshmallows and cream,

delicious stews and home cooked broth that bubble and steam.

These senses of Autumn, I enjoy every year, lucky are we that it’s finally here.
