Oscar carefully placed his swimming bag on a rusty peg, quietly walked to the edge of the pool and slipped into the cold water. He shivered, not sure whether it was because of the cold, or because of what had happened earlier on.

A few moments later, Alfie came charging from the changing rooms, launched himself into the pool, soaking Mr. Thompson and bellowed at the top of his voice “Cannonball!”.

Alfie then proceeded to cheekily splash the other children as they swam lengths of the pool, Oscar shook his head in despair watching it all take place.
