The Colourful Door

Go and open the blue door,

Maybe there is – an ocean with blue whales,

And the cyan sky waiting to pour down the aquamarine rain.

Go and open the yellow door,

Maybe there is cheese melting like custard

And ducklings camouflaging in the daffodils.

Go and open the red door,

Maybe there is a field of poppies

And cherries that taste like candy floss.

Go and open the white door,

Maybe you’ll see ivory balls

And a blank page getting ready to be written on.

Go and open the black door,

Maybe you’ll see shadows which look like ghosts

And a cloak made from ebony black.

Go and open the green door,

Maybe you’ll mint leaves

And lizards eating limes.
