The lost city

Chapter 3 : A new friend

THUMP! Oh no! Did they find us already! Emma grabbed my wrist and she hopped to the secret cupboard under my bed. I pulled it open and crawled in, Emma came in after me. We had a mattress and snacks just in case we were here longer than we might expect.

“Ooo, those pesky girls made a secret hide-out down here boss!” He sniggered. I knew that voice , it was Jemsha. He captured me a few years back but I managed to escape! “They are not here boss!” they yelled as they turned our secret hide-out upside down. “Go! They tricked you fools again! Maybe they are outside!” I imagined BIG K (the boss) with a plump red face and bulging eyes as he said this. I tried my hardest not to let out an unladylike giggle but as soon as they left me and Emma burst out laughing! Once we got out of the cupboard we noticed a SCAR soldier who was just about to leave. He turned around and gasped at us as though he saw a ghost. I turned to Emma. She had gone pale in the face and her mouth was wide open.I grabbed a glass jar from next to me and threw it high in the air. It landed on the SCAR soldiers head and shattered. Scarlet red blood poured  from his bald head as he dropped to the ground. Pieces of broken glass stabbed his neck and Emma looked horrified. Was I a murderer all of a sudden…? “ Emma , I did it to protect you, as your big sister it is my duty…” I tried getting it out as reassuring as possible but even I didn’t believe what I said. “You cruel murderer! You’re no better than the whole SCAR army themselves!” She grabbed her bag and rushed out with tears in her eyes. I knew she hated it but if i didn’t do anything, it would cost us our lives… I ran out after her. She was stopped in her tracks. “HI! I’m Piper but you can call me Pip!” A soothing voice came from in front of Emma. She slid to the side and I saw a figure standing there. She had bright blonde hair put up in a ponytail, emerald green eyes, a beautiful silver necklace with a scarlet ruby engraved on it. She was wearing a black top with a lace at the bottom and some matching shorts. She had black and grey trainers which had been smothered with mud. “Who are you?” I said as Emma stood behind me, I knew she was scared so I tried sounding as brave as possible.

“I’m from the tribe at the end of this forest… I know your father…Sorry, I knew your father”she squeaked

I heard Emma sigh, father had warned us before he passed that we would meet someone who would help us on this journey. Emma burst out into happy tears and grabbed me and Pip to give us an emergency cuddle. I knew she missed father lots and so did I which is exactly the reason we will not fail on this mission. Outside snow began to fall on the damp grass. Inside the fire crackled and the room lit up. “Lets go inside, you must be starving coming all this way!” and with that we all poured inside and closed the door behind us.

“WOW! You really want to trick those annoying soldiers!” She laughed as we showed her the secret den. We all planned how we would get to the village to get the secret potion.
