French marigold

French marigold

The stem is a thick as a newborn baby

And the pollen blows like glitter through

the air.

French marigold roots are as bendy as

worms. The marigold grows in soil as

soft as a pillow.

The Petals are as shiny as gold

 and glow like the

moon at night. The

petals dance like little

ants at night.

  1. Harry, you have really gone for similes in this poem. Some of them work really well and add to the description such as, ‘soft as a pillow’ and ‘shiny as gold.’ However, I don’t really understand ‘thick as a newborn baby.’ What do you mean by that?
