Chapter 2

Lilly looked into her bedroom too see that her books were inside out, battered and bruised but her favourite book (beauty and the beast) was open on the windowsill with its pages flicking over in the cold draft. She wash so upset but instead of curling up on her bed and crying into her pillow, she walked out of her bedroom and called Jessie. “Come with me Lilly into the lounge and we can watch tv on the sofa. Isn’t four favourite show on in 2 minutes?” Lilly replied, “Yes that sounds like a great idea! I’d love that.” When they got to the lounge, Andy lay their comfortably not wanting to move and holding her mother’s clock. Give that back you idiot she thought. Their lounge ,as her mother often told her, was as messy as a tip with books all over the floor and toys on top of it.

“ You can’t have this back Lilly! It is a lot more important than you think.” said Andy. Stunned, Lilly walked out and took a minute to calm down after her brother had took some thing so special. Then a strange man (that Lilly thought, quite frankly looked like a mad scientist from the movies) walked past but then turned round and said in a rough, deep voice, “Were is your clock?”

“Why?” She asked

“Your brother was right it is very important.”
