Chapter 2
“David?”
Shocked, David turned around, “JAMES? What are you doing here?”
“What you mean is, what are you doing here? Look behind you.”
David turned around and his jaw dropped. It was State Manor! David and James’s old house.
It had cream, white bricks and a penny brown roof. All five windows looked as good as new. All the flags were still there. “Come on David, some of our things are still in there!” David walked up the stone footpath hesitantly. James turned the rusty, cold handle.
As soon as the door opened, they ran upstairs to their mum and dad’s room looking for things like: money, special things, shoes, clothes or keys.
Amazingly, David found a chest with lots of old dusty broken items. All David found was money and lots of dusty books but when James came over to him one stood out the most. He picked it up and blew on it what they saw next made them cry.
