Welcome to the blog post challenge.
Below is an example of a blog post written by Pie.
I want to paint…
I want to paint – the silence of sunlight seeping through window panes, catching motes of dust shimmering, the pure polish shining on a red apple waiting on Mrs Tudor’s desk and the miracle of the orchard that hides within, a zealous zebra zipping up its terrifying teeth, a determined daffodil break-dancing as the wind dares to fidget and a haughty heron poised like a statue at the edge of Powell’s pond.
I want to paint – the yellow heart of a daffodil like a golden eye trapped inside a trumpet, a crisp packet, lonely as a lost thought, blown along the street, a black taxi like a beetle with lights blaring, casting shadows as dark as a mine shaft, windows on Sheerston Flats like a robot’s shiny, square eyes staring anonymously and a murmuration of starlings like a swarm flying in harmony.
I want to paint scarlet strawberries, taste bud tickling.
I want to paint the smell of acrid smoke drifting across a war struck zone.
I want to paint the sound of a hyena’s laugh in the cool of a desert night.
I want to paint the memory of Granny Pointon’s lace handkerchief and her bony, cold hands.
I want to paint the impossibility of magnets leaping towards each other, strangely eager to cling like limpets.
I want to paint the distance between an alarm bell and the rush of people scurrying for safety down Regency High Street.
I want to paint the end of this poem.
