9:30am TeachingLive Writing (Session dates)

For Spring Term 2025 a TeachingLive Writing subscription will include the following:

  • 10 TeachingLive sessions between January 2025 and the end of the Spring term;
  • Aimed at KS2 children, especially years 4,5 and 6;
  • 3 poetry sessions, 3 non-fiction sessions and 4 extended story writing sessions;
  • A full term plan for teachers, plus individual lesson notes;
  • A maximum of 3 classes/groups per school (additional classes can be added at extra cost).

Teaching Live Grammar is returning in Spring 2025

Topics covered:

  1. Word classes – verbs (tenses) and adverbs; nouns and adjectives.
  2. Word classes – prepositions; determiners; nouns and pronouns including possessive pronouns; plurals and apostrophes.
  3. Phrases and clauses – noun phrases; prepositional phrases; modal and auxiliary verbs – verb phrases.
  4. Sentences – sentence types + punctuation; main and subordinate clauses; commas.
  5. Joins and Links – adverbials; conjunctions; relative clauses + relative pronouns.
  6. Sentences – subject / verb; agreement; tenses.
  7. Harder punctuation – colons; semicolons; ellipsis; parenthesis – brackets, dashes, commas; hyphens; bullet points.
  8. Cohesion – including fronted adverbials.
  9. Formal & informal – speech; audience and purpose.
  10. Active & passive – root words, suffixes and prefixes.

  • You may wish to increase your subscription by adding further classes. Each class added will cost an extra £100 per class per term (£80 if in Scotland), less any applicable discounts.
  • Is there anything else we need to know about you? For example, would you prefer new classes to access the 11;30am session, a 1:30pm session (if numbers permit us to run one)? Or, would you prefer new classes to access different sessions to facilitate better use of kit and internet connection etc.
