Lurking in the night

On Monday , I saw the glistening silver moon elevate up as it lanced through the motionless , jet black clouds.

On Tuesday , I heard whispers of the majestic , enchanted star surfing endlessly through the universe like a forgotten promise.

On Wednesday , I felt the signals from a mysterious , galactic planet ricochet throughout my empty , dull mind.

On Thursday , I dreamed of a lonely , empty comet drifting and rotating throughout many different galaxies each with an unknown origin.

On Friday , I heard the deafening silence lance through my ear canal like an arrow piercing me through the heart.

On Saturday , I walked through the empty , forgotten road as its street lights flickered endlessly.

On on Sunday , I saw through the darkness a scared , damaged deer dashing through the trees like a nocturnal predator hunting for its next victim.

Unicorns, are they good?

Many people have been discussing if unicorns should be hunted to extinction. These heated debates have been happening since one had been sighted inside a town. People had feared that it had been trying to expand it’s territory so, now it has come to everyone’s attention.

A vast majority of the public have stated that exterminating them would be the best decision. This is because of their horn and their hide. Additionally, they have been extremely aggressive in the past, this is because they have an everlasting protection of their territory. They have also been known to be greedy in the past, they’d wanted the world to themselves.

On the other hand, a significant minority have given light to the fact that if we manage to live in harmony with them, they could help us harvest our lands. This is due to the rather fortunate fact that they have good knowledge in agricultural things. Protection for this rare species has also been suggested, but all attempts at establishing one have failed miserably. Nearly all of them, have been ended by, now, illegal hunting. Scientists have proposed breeding them for their beautiful horns but, this has also failed.

Having considered both sides, I, personally believe that exterminating them will be the best choice. This is only, and only, because with our current technology it is impossible to safely harness one. I think that in the future this thought could be possible and we could live in harmony with them.

The Mountaintop Dragon

Throughout the world, there are many different and unique species of dragons. One of the most powerful is a rather gigantic Mountaintop Dragon. Very rare snippets of information are scattered all around the world, this is due to the unfortunate fact that only a few remain alive. No one knows why they are so rare.

Would you be able to correctly identify a Mountaintop Dragon ? In fact they are very different from their natural brothers. They have a short stumpy tail, a body that resembles one of a whale and extremely poor eyesight. This greatly reduces their chance of survival when it’s compared to one of a Common Snow Dragon. A snow dragon is one of the weakest. A vast majority, of Mountaintop Dragons have frosty moss smothered against their bodies, this moss gives poor protection from seeking eyes, but, somehow, many manage to miss it gliding in and out of clouds. However, a few live lower down, this causes them to be more vulnerable to prying eyes. An amazing feature, that a Mountaintop Dragon rarely cares to show, is that they can force rocks and earth up from the ground, this process may create ridges up to one metre tall. Their teeth are made out of solid, highly compressed rocks and their tongue is a rigid, white lump. This dragon’s horrible features, are well used though and help them eat their favourite food, diamond!

No one actually knows where a Mountaintop Dragon can sleep. This fact will most likely never become found out due to the huge size of this dragon.(Approximately one hundred and seven metres). It is thought that they hibernate, rather weirdly. In the Summer months of June and July, they fly Mount. Everest and have a ceremony to welcome the new youngsters, then crawl into an immense cave and do whatever they do. If you want to find out about this dragon, be sure to bring a rather powerful weapon. This is only, and only, a precaution in case you anger one of these beasts. Furthermore, if they manage to get you, the gunpowder will be a good treat for them.

Are Mountaintop Dragons dangerous? Many people believe that they aren’t. This is a vital mistake as Mountaintop Dragons have the power to snap twenty spines in one single blow. Unfortunately, if you touch this wonderful dragon you’ll get turned into a putty-like substance made out of earth, ice, snow and mud. So, anyone with a big enough thirst for danger should be warned. Don’t anger them.

Greenery vs Cement

Rain poured down on Jack’s bald head, a continuous downpour of stinging droplets.”Oh drat!”yelled Jack, “Rotten, just rotten this town is!”he continued. As he trudged home he questioned himself. Why did I come here? Why is there no greenery? Is this town cursed? Suddenly, a glittering glass cage caught his eye. No it couldn’t be…

‘Summer’

Waves bite at my feet

Like an invisible being-

Cloudless skies slip by.

Ice cream melts

As the bright sun falls

A measure of happiness

Beaches shine

Like clear jewels

Waters drain through

Sand castles grow

Before my sparkling eyes

Like beacons of light.

Flowers radiate with scents

Bees buzz joyfully

Like little packets of excitement

Oak trees bend with grace

Leaves green hold their weight

Pollen flies with it’s scent

Heat waves burn my eyelashes

Dust particles fill my house

Barbecues burning in my back garden

Chirps fill my ears

As I lay in bed

A day wraps up.

‘The Jar’

The jar rests against it’s ancient ,rotten plank,

It’s lid ,worn out, acted like an old, wrinkly face.

Cracks rise up from the bottom, minute and annoying, features exposing its imperfection.

The glass wear stood strong in it’s carefully selected cylindrical shape.

Labels ,countless, were splattered across it’s surface.

The faint scent of pickles filled it’s insides with a strange warmth.

The cupboard awaits a dear friend to free the jar trapped inside.

‘What are you?’ By Andrei

You are the distance between an author and the first copy of their first book.

You are a memory filled with grief that has only one shining star, one path to happiness.

You are like the numbers 6 and 9 , put them upside down, change your opinions but, you end up with the same answer.

You are the faint scent of lemons from a corner of an abandoned crate.

You are an angry Donald Duck babbling on about the endless misfortune of his three little nephews.

You are a hungry lion after finding a never ending source of food.

You are in London waiting for a moment, a bus, that will never come, your dream still there.

You are a tree burning, twisting and bending like a human in pain.

You are a complex web of stories and poems, ever-expanding ideas of joy.

You are the end.
