The Once loved Bike
Sitting against the tree, looking forlorn and lonely.
Wheels slowly deflating, like its taking its final breath of air.
Curved and peeling, the handlebars are an upside down smile,
waiting and waiting, for it could be a while,
before a child comes along and pulls it near.
This once loved bike, it has no cheer.
Once shiny and new, now old and chewed- the leather saddle
cracked and faded blue.
This once loved bike, it was once so new.
