Should Dragons be able to live locally? 

We have been discussing whether dragons should be able to live in Buxton. This is a hot topic at the moment because dragon have been seen settling in nearby, and people are worried that they will move closer. 

Many people think that dragons should not stay near or at Buxton as it is a danger to our community. Additionally, Dragons are known for burning down houses and destroying countries. Furthermore, people argue that dragons are exceptionally large and will take up a lot of space.  

On the other hand, people believe that dragons should be able to live in our local area. Furthermore, it is suggested that dragons will protect our town, and look out for the children. Indeed, the fact that dragons clear dark clouds and storms away has been noticed.  

Having consider the argument, the council have decided that dragons should be allowed to live in our town. Starting from next week on Monday the 27 July dragon will be able to live freely in our community. The main reason for this conclusion is the safety dragons will bring us. 

Sun Dragon

As you know, there are many species of dragons in this world. One of them being the Sun Dragon. In fact, the Sun Dragon is one of the rarest dragons in the world.

The main feature of a Sun Dragon is it’s crimson red scales. From far enough away, this dragon looks like it is on fire. Like most dragons, this majestic creature has a spiky tail, the body of a horse and four strong legs. The Sun Dragon has golden wings of fire, and soars through the sky. Many people believe that the Sun Dragon is vicious and very harmful to humans. However, people who have sighted this dragon claim that it is as gentle as a fly.

Nobody knows where the Sun Dragon goes in the winter. Though the majority thinks that it hibernates. The Sun Dragon lives in hot places, such as deserts. If you want to see a Sun Dragon, you are best going to a desert at about mid-day. Be careful, they can be very dangerous. A Sun Dragon catches its pray by flying up to it, then a ring of fire forms around it.

If you ever encounter this creature stay very still, it can be dangerous if you make any sudden movements. If you move slowly towards it, it will start to trust you. Just remember, BE CAREFUL!

Several hours later, we were ready to set off again. Mason and I walked up the creaking staircase to the sky-ship. As it slowly left the ground, we looked over the railings. Gazing at the waters below. Soon we were level with the white clouds. The beautiful sun was nearly out of sight now and not long after it was gone. The sky was an ebony black, with only the light of the moon. Without warning, rain came pouring down. Mason was asleep but i was wide awake. Suddenly, a dark silhouette thundered across the deck. What was that?

Fumes of acrid smoke leaked into the air. Mason and I gasped for our breath, as the skyship sunk lower and lower through the air. I had no idea what to do, but Mason had an idea. He explained to me that if we used the rope that had held up the balloon to catch some dragons, then they would keep us in the air. It was our only chance to get back in the air. I went to grab the rope. When we had the rope, we made collars and leads for the dragons. Soon we were finished. Now came the dangerous part. Now Mason and I had to attract the dragons, without getting hurt. We banged on pots and screamed until eventually a flight of dragons flew towards us. Mason was up on the ladder getting ready to put on the collars, and I hid behind the tiller. As the dragons flew past Mason, he reached up, hot fire just missing his face, as he looped the rope around the dragons’ necks. Mason’s idea had worked. We were floating again. What was going to happen now.

Mason and I saw the door as it engulphed in fiery flames. Something had heated up in the lower deck. I looked down to see nothing but a volcano spitting out hot lava. The storm must have knocked us off course of Kutan. The fire was spreading throughout the ship. We had to put it out. NOW. Mason raced for the water source, but I got Shimmer. Shimmer was my water dragon. She had turquoise scales and spat out water. She put out the fire within seconds, but we had a problem. The fire had burnt the only thing that was keeping us in the air. Our balloon.
