A Book from Hogwarts’ Library

If I were summoned to create a treasure, I would take:

the scent of fresh, forgiving rain,

the last cruel and cripling cry of humanity,

and the rush of luscious leaves in the wind,

an ancient book from Hogwarts’ library,

the chime of tall and wise Big Ben,

and the defiant quack of a mother duck,

the precious, pristine purr of Crookshanks,

the magnificent, mysterious ring from Frodo’s rucksac,

and the unease of the dark.

The Poem of Rooms

First, In the room of tremendous tranquility, I felt at peace with the world.

In the room of atoms, I felt smaller than a quark.

I stood in the room of loathing, and I loathed my enemies.

I stood in the room of destructive depression, I mourned my soul out.

Finally in the room of cats, I heard the couch purr and the floor hiss.

Should dragons be kept as pets?

Should dragons be kept as pets?

We have been discussing whether or not dragons should be kept as pets. This is a hot topic at the moment because there have been lots of exotic dragons flying over Shamlot recently. People are concerned: the exotic dragons have unknown properties.

Many people think that dragons should be kept as pets because they could be very helpful once their properties are discovered: eventually. Additionally, known and studied dragons have helpful properties that can improve daily life.

On the other hand, some people argue that dragons should not be kept as pets because of their aggressive nature. Furthermore, many suggest that dragon hunting should be the solution to certain dilemmas that we have.

Having carefully considered both arguments, I think that dragons should be kept as pets as long as their properties are known. Therefore, they could assist us greatly in many ways.

The Big Mistake

Wind rushed. Wind rushed around the ship as though the hurricane was trying to lasoo the ship in a different direction. Kitten cried and cried and cried. I scratched his cheeks, trying to comfort him. Luckily, he seemed to calm down when I did so. He still looked nervous. I scooped him up and left my cabin in a hurry. The floor creaked slightly beneath my feet as I went to knock on the captain’s door. His gruff, loud voice rang out, ” Come in. ”

I strode in, Kitten in my arms : purring loudly. I asked, “Are we going to steer away from the storm, captain? ”

“No, we’ re on reserve fuel, if we turn around we’ll run out of fuel, ” he said simply.

I sighed. ” Well, ok then… I await your command.”

I was walking across deck when…what?! A massive winged shadow that looked like a dragon loomed over the ship. Kitten was whimpering. Captain showed up. He most likely saw my gaping mouth. Captain told me not to worry and he explained that it was the fuel supply ship coming. Relief poured back into my veins like warm milk. I went back to my cabin and sat back down on my bed. How I thought that… that. Never mind that. I feel exhausted.

An Unexpected Friend

Not too long after, I found myself alone on the Stargrazer. The silence was deafening. Then as I turned to go into my cabin, I heard a soft meowing. I looked down to my feet and saw a kitten, it was scratched all over. I went to fetch my med kit with haste. I patched it up swiftly. I picked it up gently, careful to not injure it any more than it already was. It had beautiful blue eyes, shaggy grey fur and a bushy tail. I wrapped it in a blanket and hoisted it up onto my bed. I watched it curiously. I’d never seen a kitten before. I drifted into a calm sleep…

Opposites

You are a leaf blowing through the breeze,

And you are a monkey swinging through trees,

You are as quiet as a feather,

Yet as loud as a tremor,

As fierce as a lion,

And as shy as a mouse,

You are different,

Yet the same,

You are a beginning,

But also an end.
