Chapter 2 of Crocomander

Chapter 2

“You seem really scared” I say, staring at her horrified eyes, blankly. “I saw it!” She whispers. It isn’t often that I get a random visiter telling me that they have seen something and not telling me what. A storm was starting to brew outside and the girl, so called Luna, hides her head underneath my pillow. “Alright, I will help you.” I say finally and she looks up at me with bright eyes. The girl thanks me and walks to the hotel door and locked it.

The next day, Luna woke me by shaking my shoulders and shouting muffled words that I couldn’t make out while being half asleep. She grabs my arm and runs to the door of the hotel. She explains that she wants to explore the beach. I nodded my head, I mean, what else could I do? She would only argue until she got what she wanted.

Before long, we were at the sea front but grey clouds were billowing overhead. “Should we go ba…” My voice trailed off and I stopped in my tracks. A shadow was moving in the distance across the sand. I blinked, unsure what I had just seen. It was gone. “Should we go now?” I manage to splutter while my heart thumped as loud as a jet engine. Suddenly, an ear-splitting howl fills the air and me and Luna exchange anxious glances. The shadow was now approaching us. A thick mist had fallen and all we could see was two yellow eyes, moving closer… and closer.

A week of Spring by Faye

On Monday, I found an orange leaf, glinting in the light of bright sun.

On Tuesday, I walked to the top of Rivington Pike, with a view of the elegant fields of new born lambs and deceiving crows.

On Wednesday, I saw a dark, rainy cloud, hovering over the dull, lifeless town of small, attached houses.

On Thursday, I touched the cold stone wall of the damp, old warehouse, storing many mysterious, once loved items.

On Friday, I tasted the cloud-like candy floss with the tip of my tongue.

On Saturday, I heard the loud sequence of noises, belonging to an ambulance, on the way to an emergency.

On Sunday, I dreamed of a leaf the size of a tree, a candy floss the size of a cloud, and a desert as hot as the sun itself,

Session seven blog challenge by Faye

The sea looked very dangerous: the waves crashed agains the rocks; the edge of a cliff eroded into the water; and the bystanders watched in sheer shock.  The wind howled; the tumbleweed on the bank blew. The water (which seemed to have no end) covered the sand like a blanket. The pure-green trees waved at the dark sea below and that was when they saw it; a large beast wading through the water…

The man

The bus stopped because the storm blew. The old man staggered as he made his way to the house. He sat down at the table and waited for them to arrive.

Inside/Outside

Outside, the trees blew wildly. Inside, the fire heated up the room.

Outside the cave, a snow leopard stalked its prey. Inside, the campers were looking petrified.

Outside, the rain fell heavily. Inside, the children played happily.

Outside, the wind howled loudly. Inside, the cat cowered under the table.

Outside, the children played. Inside, the adults talked about their work.

Bob ran down the road but he fell over and hurt his knee. The thunder roared outside so the hobbits hid. Bilbo slept in the cave while the goblins attacked. The cart came to a wheezing halt as Gandalf strode into the hobbit hole. Jim was interested in the idea so he rang is friend but they did not answer. Owls are nocturnal as this means they are active at night for they have excellent eyesight.

Outside, her smile was as bright as the sun. Inside, her depression was taking over.

Outside, a torrential downpour was cast upon the city. Inside, the ferocious fire crackled.

Outside, the camera was old and dusty. Inside, a thousand memories lived.

Outside, the sun beat down on the busy city. Inside, was cool as the air conditioning was on full whack.

Outside, the beautiful snow fell peacefully. Inside, excited screams came from the children’s ( and adult’s ) room as they discovered the snow.

The new teacher by Faye

As soon as the joyous Miss Honey skipped into class seven, the shadowy classroom became cheerful and welcoming. She was tall with an ecstatic look in her eyes like a dog when given a bone. Settle down children, said the teacher, still grinning.
