Chapter 4

Cal dreamed. An unfamiliar figure stood a few feet away from him. He wandered closer, he saw that it was a hooded man, but upon reaching him. He saw he ha no face, “Who are you?” Cal asked, the man grabbed Cal by the neck and lifted him up of the ground. Then a horrifying screech was let out of hood of the man, “Give up Cal.” it knew his name. He started an eerie melodic tune before disappearing into darkness. Suddenly, he fell down into a hole where he hit the ground.

Waking up in sweat, he found he was the only one awake. He strolled out of the tawny shack for some fresh air and was struck with sun rays. Shielding his eyes from the blazing sun, Pod wandered out of the shack and sat beside him, “Morning,” He yawned, “You been awake long?” He asked,

“No, is Danny still asleep?” He asked back, Pod yawned again,

“Yes, I also saw a G.O.D airship over that way, about 500 yards away,” He said, pointing to the right, “It’s the one with the blueprints.” He said.

Cal walked over to where Danny was sleeping knowing that she wouldn’t be willing to wake up, “Get up! Wake up!” Danny let out a small groan, but that was all she could do before Cal started shouting at her and she soon got out of bed.

“I saw him this way.” Pod said as he ambled forwards into a clearing, straight ahead was the immense G.O.D airship, which towered alone in a meadow. Scanning the colossal ship, he saw that it had a few harpoons on the side and some machine guns. Cal swallowed a gulp of dread. “It’ll launch soon. If we’re gonna stop it from launching, we have to get to the controls!” Said Pod as he bounded further and the children followed close behind.

They got to the wooden walkway and sneaked up to the control room, “Pod, weren’t we supposed to get the blueprints back?” Asked Cal, Pod nodded,

“Why don’t we just throw them out and leave them?” Danny suggested. They slithered to the storage room and found the blueprints. Waiting for Pod to retrieve the notes, they all held their breath. Pod ran in, grabbed the note, and ran out. To their relief he came back safely, and as they were going to get out of there a voice came from the hallway, “Going somewhere?” It was Scarface, h leader of G.O.D. He pressed a button on a remote and the airship tilted when he pressed it, the three musketeers realised that the tether holding the ship to the ground. He pressed on forwards and walked towards the children, “Get back!” Shouted Pod and he ran at the man. Getting scared the man ran backwards and cornered himself at the edge of a balcony. Pod kicked him off the ship and sent him plummeting to his doom. “Where are the blueprints?” Cal asked, Pod shook them in his hand and they all breathed a sigh of relief.

Searching the belly of the ship for any clues, they found a badly beaten body lying limp on the ground, “Father?” Cal said, shaking him forcefully. No movement or sign of life. Cal shrunk back in silence knowing that his father was deceased, “Hold on Cal,” Pod said after a brief moment of silence, “I might be able to shock him back to life.” He shocked back into life,

“Where am I?” He said, Cal hugged him tightly and commanded Pod to fly the ship to Rathbone Manor.

Cal led his father up to the balcony of the airship and they both looked on at the ochre sunset that lowered in the distance. At least he was reunited with his father in time for Christmas and he could soon celebrate it with him.
