The Winter Wonderland Unicorn

The Winter Wonderland Unicorn

This unicorn is easily recognisable up close but from a distance it looks a little like the frost unicorn. Many hikers have claimed to see the ultra-rare winter wonderland unicorn when they have in fact seen the much more common frost unicorn. The distinct features of this unicorn are its ice hooves, snowflake covered wings, long, white horn and its amazing speckled white coat. Lots have heard the distinct cry of the unicorn, a loud and bellowing roar that sound’s scarily similar to a lion’s roar. Amazingly, the winter wonderland unicorn is terrified of fire for it melts its ice hooves and snowflake covered wings.

Recent studies have shown that the snowflakes on this unicorn’s wings enable him to fly and use his magical powers, without them they are just ordinary horses. Did you know that this unicorn’s mane and tale stings anyone who touches it unless you have gained his trust, then it is just silky smooth? Generally, you will find these unicorns in dark forests for they like the shelter from the trees as sunlight hurts them. The winter wonderland unicorn’s special powers are that they can freeze and unfreeze anything they want.

This creature’s diet consists mostly of fruits, vegetables and grass that it can find easily in the forests that they live in. Unfortunately, these unicorns were hunted almost to extinction and there are now only a few left in the wild, but there is hope for some breeding programmes have been set up for the preservation of these wonderful animals.

The winter wonderland unicorn is cold blooded and loves to swim in cold deep pools that are located in some forests. It is a strong swimmer for its long swishing tail propelles them forwards in water. Interestingly, this unicorn has midnight blue scales along half of its back leg to show it’s enthusiasm for swimming. The winter wonderland unicorn’s personality is gentle, kind and sometimes a little fierce but they always mean well and hate to hurt others in any way.

In its free time the winter wonderland unicorn likes to make bracelets from gems and dried fruit that he can find in forests. They also love to hang out with the water pegasus for they also share a keen interest in swimming. So now you know how to recognise a winter wonderland unicorn but make sure that if ever you have the privilege to see a winter wonderland unicorn, make sure to keep a safe distance and never mistreat them for they are extremely sensitive and would hate to have its feelings hurt.

What are…

What are…

What are pretty? A film star with golden hair and Valegro’s moves as he dances in the dressage arena.

What are horrid? A cheater in a quiz at school and the rainbow chard that grows in my father’s allotment.

What are ancient? A beastly scar from a thorn bush and the long-lost memory of my first birthday.

What are new? The latest rocket blasting to space and my high school clothes ready for next year.

What are cold? The sea at Aberdyfi in the middle of winter and the icebergs of Antarctica crashing against the frozen land.

What are hot? The sun’s rays on a piece of silver and lava flowing from a colossal volcano on an island in the Pacific Ocean.

What are fast? A cheetah hunting its prey in the African Savannah and a gannet diving for tuna off the coast of Wales.

What are slow? A leatherback turtle crawling towards the sea and a sloth hanging lazily from a tree in the Amazon rainforest.

What are bright? A neon sign on the side of a shop and my friend’s pink jumper, easy to spot in a crowd.

What are dull? The beige walls of my Granny’s house and streets and streets of nothing but tarmac.

I have never but I have

I have never but I have……

I have never visited the man on the moon,

but I have been to see my Granny and her delirious dog Raffles.

I have never seen thousands of shooting stars while lying in my comfy bed,

but I have witnessed the northern lights lighting up the sky of Iceland.

I have never befriended a beautiful black panther in the amazon rainforest,

but I have made a friend in my neighbour’s cat on my way to school.

I have never peered into the mouth of volcano as it prepares to erupt,

But I have looked into my black lab’s mouth to recover something he helpfully picked up.

I have never a buried a valuable treasure hidden in an abandoned cave,

but I have found my favourite book hidden behind the sofa.

I have never read the dictionary cover to cover in one night,

But I have browsed through this poem so that makes it alright.

I want to paint…

I want to paint…

I want to paint the impossibility of a Stella’s sea eagle grabbing a salmon clean out of the Artic Ocean,

I want to paint the beauty of nature at it’s very best as the giant cherry trees blossoms in the peace of the Welsh countryside.

I want to paint the precise tic toc of a clock the fingers like actors each waiting patiently for it’s time to shine.

I want to paint a stranking, striking storm over the swirling sea as lightning cracks and all is then still.

I want to paint the sound of a train as it leaves a station, steam billowing like a speeding dragon.

I want to paint a strawberry as red as a fighter plane but as sweet as syrup.

I want to paint a sapphire as dark of a blue as the midnight sky and more valuable than the best of racehorses.

I want to paint a balloon, a red balloon that flies high with no appointed track.

I want to paint snow as white as the little lambs than prance in the fields around my little brick house.

I want to paint Africa, a giant continent full of all types of awesome amazing animals sharing a home in the vast Savannahs.

I want to paint the human body as complicated as the computers that send rockets into space.

I want to paint…………..
