Chapter 3 Malamander

Chapter 3

A few days later and we are in Jimmy Jims ice cream parlour. I have a chocolate ice cream and Dylan has an Eerie vanilla. But then Dylan puts it down and says. “I know where it lives.” Here we go again I think. But before I can say anything he’s off his seat and running to the beach. I sprint to catch up to him. “This is a crazy idea,” I say. “No its not,” Shouts Dylan. He then runs down the spiral staircase leading to the beach jumping the last few steps.

It’s been 10 minutes now and Dyaln finally stops at the cliffs. No one is allowed past the cliffs so I turn back. But after a while I realise he’s not following. I look back and see him climbing the rocks. I look at him amazed. “You to scared,” Shouts Dylan. I stop gazing and start to climb.

The climb is hard and tiring as the rocks are super wet which makes them slippery and seagulls keep pecking at me. But after 15 minutes we find a cave. It’s pitch black inside so we try and find a light source. I find a decent size stick and Dylan finds a flint. I then scrape the twig and the flint together and we have light. I look at my DIY torch proudly but then Dylan picks it up and enters the cave!

The torch shines all around us but then I step in… slime? Why is there slime here. I carry on as it’s probably nothing. There’s a voice in the back of my head telling me to turn back. But I’m to focused on the endless hallway infront of me to focus on that little voice. But then after a few minutes of walking we found something. A giant nest. We climb the nest and we find an egg. The Frogamander has an egg. “But frogs don’t have eggs they don’t even have nests,” I say confused. We advance towards it.

We gaze at the bright ruby red egg. Then we noitice it’s glowing. Josh picks it up. “Wow that’s heavy,” Says Dylan. He hands it to me. I almost drop it its that heavy. “Lets go,” I say. But as soon as we’re about to leave something moves behind us!

The Frogamander chapter 2

Chapter 2

We stare at the place where the thing stood. Mouths open eyes wide.

“What was that?” I say. But Dylan backs away. And I see why. The thing is back. It’s red eyes glowing in the sea mist. We run for it. We can hear it chasing us. Rain starts to pound the sand. Then a bolt of lightning strikes the ground not to far away. When I listen closely I hear webbed feet? Then an idea lands in my head. The Frogamander! I look behind us but that was a mistake as I can see the red eyes only a few feet away. We climb the stairs leading of the beach. We bend over panting. “I think we lost it.” I say. But then I see something striding towards us. We run to the book shop. When we get there we pound on the door. Locked. The thing has us corned! As it’s about to step under the moonlight there’s a click. And the door opens. The thing leaps over the sea wall and is engulfed by the black water.

Miss Blobfish or Blob for short locks the door as we scramble in. And then she unloads it on us. “What the heck are you doing at 4 in the morning, and don’t look at my face!” Says Miss Blobfish angrily! It’s hard not to look as, well she looks like a blobfish. We thank her for letting us in and we go to my flat. But Dylan has other ideas and he heads to the beach. I catch up with him and asks where he’s going. “To the beach.” Replied Dylan.

“We can go in the morning.” I say back.

“It won’t be out in the morning besides if that was the Frogamander we have to get a closer look.”Says Dylan. After a heated argument I decide to go to the beach. So we set off down the stairs and onto the beach. We then set of in the direction of the pier where the Frogamander lurks. “Are you sure about this Dylan.” I say nervously.

“100% positive.” Says Dylan.

The Frogamander

Prologue

You’ve probily been to Cheerie island, in the summer of course without ever knowing it. It’s one of those places. The sun would of been shining and seagulls stealing your chips. The ice cream stall would be packed selling: chocolate, berry cherry and vanilla ice cream. Children would of been digging holes with there buckets and spades. People buying souvenirs. But you would of gotten in the car to go home and gotten ready to forget all about your day at the seaside. But it’s not like that in the winter.

Try going when the first winter storms blow in, when the ch of Cheerie island flicker out to spell eerie island! No one visits then, even the locals stay of the beach then and they have a good reason to. When the winter storms howl everyone locks there doors and closes their shutters. Owen or crazy O as people call him swears he has seen the legend Frogamander but no one believes him until now…

Chapter 1

My name is Joshua Pineapple and I work at Cheerie island beach. Most people call me Josh. I am a lifeguard at Cheerie island. It’s quite exciting in summer when guests come flooding in with the smell of fresh crepes being made and everyone buzzing. But in winter the only thing to keep me company is the slow waves crashing on the beach. No crowds, no crepes it really is different in winter.

It’s 3:15. The beaches most active part of the day. It’s noticeable the most buisiest summer yet. Then I see a crate in the water. Strange I thought? I go to investigate. I wait as it lands on the beach. And what I see is very odd. A boy. Maybe age 9. He opens his eyes startling me.

“Um what’s your name?” I say.

“Dunno?” Says the boy.

He must of banged his head. So I decide to call him Dylan Avocado as he looks like a Dylan and his crate is full of avocados. I tell him his new name and he smiles for the first time. Dylan Avocado it is I say. Then a horn blares I look up. A ship is heading straight towards us. I look at Dylan his eyes have widened and he has gone a ghostly shade of white.

“There after me.” He squeaks.

“Help me.” He says even more quietly this time.

I help him out the crate and hurry to my apartment. I can hear the captain of the ship yelling at his crew. He must of seen me take the boy.

Before I carry on with what happens next, let me tell you of a locel tale. It happened so long ago that no one knows the exact date that someone saw it. It’s a legend that only comes out when streats are desserted or when it’s night but most commonly thought to be seen is during a storm. It is though to be a frog. A giant frog. That’s where it got it’s name Frogamander! It’s as big as a T-rex as strong as a dragon it smelled of deceased fish it had eaten. Do not go out when the first winter storm blows in as that is when it appears.

Were at my house now. And I demand an explanation. So Dylan opens his mouth and begins. But then his tummy grumbles. I get the message and go to my fridge and get a sandwich. After he finishes his peanut butter jelly sandwich. I tell him to start so Dylan opens his mouth and begins. It happened so many years ago when I was just a young boy. My parents stayed in a hotel near these parts. I was with them. We were a rich family and a captain wanted the money. We went to the beach one day and we played hide and seek and they hid under the pier. I saw them out the corner of my eye but before I could get them someone or something took them. The captain is still after me.

I nod. “But how did you end up in a crate?” I say.

“I don’t know?” Says dylan.

“Wait are you here to try and find out what took them I ask.” I say. Exactly says Dylan. You could help me find it Dylan said excited.

“I’m afraid not as I have a job.” I say sadly.

“Pleaseeeee.” Says Dylan. I can’t say no to that face.

It’s the next morning and me and Dylan set of to the beach. It’s misty outside and the streets are deserted. Even the fish and chip shop isn’t open. We make our way down the steps to the beach. We walk across the beach as the sun starts to rise. But then in the mist you can see a figure crouched beneath the pier. Then it backed away back into the unknown.

An abandoned ice cream

On Monday, I found an abandoned ice-cream just sitting on the canal path lookias if it was ready to pounce but really it was just a lost lonley soul.

On Tuesday, I walked to Healy Nab and saw a nightingale swoop past and high above as it did this it dropped a feather how its beauty showed.

On Wednesday, I saw Chorley football team score a bycicle kick just as a bike went past the final whistle blew and it was a win, the day was full of excitement and drama what a day.

On Thursday, I touched a black and white cat its fur was as soft as a bear but all I got as a thank you was a long menicing hiss.

On Friday, I tasted sushi fresh from Tescos fridges delicious as a pie and as I took a second bite it tasted of a cold empty promise just like humanity.

On Saturday, I heard a squeak I turned to see a red squirrel one of rare creatures of England such a sight to be hold.

On Sunday, I dreamt of flying up in the sky over Chorley seeing the world go by.

Grammar session 3

Bob tripped on a rock because he wasn’t watching where he was going.

The thunder boomed across the valley and the hobbits hid.

The evil goblins attacked as Bilbo slept in the dark cave.

The call.

The snow fell as Tom waited fidgeting. He was in a flat on the 79th floor then the phone rang. Tom listened intently then crossed the room picked up his suitcase. Then opened the door and went into the cold.

The new teacher by Isaax

As soon as happy- faced mr Lewis bounced into class seven, the familiar room immediately appeared to be more gleeful than ever. He was an average size with a overjoyed look at his new pupils. Rather like a marshmallows stare. ‘Settle down children,’ said the new teacher rather enthusiastically, ‘ You will not be disappointed with me.

Letter

Dear captain Harriet culpepper,

I am applying for a job on the skyship

I think you should hire me because

Firstly i have recently passed and claimed top in my

SCYs (sky crew youth) so i will know how to steer, repair, and

power the sky ship.

Secondly i have always been good at flying

In fact i am a former pilot of the VFE

(vain fly industries) so i know their weaknesses.

I would know how to  pilot the aurora if the pilot may be ill or injured

Moreover im not a fussy eater there for i won’t take very long eating .

So i can get out quickly.

In addition i have a degree in land baced fighting so if i see any attackers

Such as box trols, mountain dwarfs and dragons

I can fight them of easily.

After that i have never been afraid of hights of flying

So i won’t get sky sick or be afraid to look down.

This means i can spot any attackers before its to late .

Additionally i have always been a good swimmer this means

If the sky ship tragically crashes i can pull people to safety

That’s a lot of people saved.

Finally I am a grate cook that means you will not get food poisoning

And the food will taste grate

Over all I i know Maudie so I would fit in perfectly. She tells me that the crew

Is very friendly and they would love me to join .

In conclusion i think i would be the right man for the job .

Im very loyal and will not disobey you

Yours sincerely Isaac E

PS: i will need to bring my pet ferret he eats only fish

on the island of…

On the island of Spellajick,

I travelled on a shelled swimmer,

That swam with playful pixies prancing,

Around its head.

On the island of castaways,

I discovered a pack of midnight howlers,

Emerged into the black burrows beneath,

My worn feet
