Winter Days by Josh

The stomp of my foot crunched the snow beneath.
Santa’s laugh as he passes the children’s houses.
The smell of the fresh baked turkey as it gets put on the table.

The distant sound of children playing.
Unwrapping of the present as the toy finds a new friend.
Bags full of wrapping paper.

Tucking into bed as the Northern lights flash outside.
The cuddles of the adults are so tight,
so that means they’re saying goodnight.

Autumn Hiaku

Trees dying. Squirrels collecting acorns.  Conkers crashing. Marshmallows burning. Bond fires cracklings. Fireworks fizzing. Creepy pumpkins. Terryfing music. Wind rustling leaves.
