Racoon

‘Bedtime’ mum shouted from downstairs, I decided not to argue with her this time fell straight to sleep

The next morning I woke up and went down to mum but she was nowhere to be seen, I called her name, no reply. I knew that something was up, I was so nervous that I began to chew my fingers to realise that they were black, white and fury I rushed upstairs to look in the mirror and screamed in shock, I was a racoon! I was so horrified that I fainted.

I woke up, I was back to a normal, I wondered if it was a dream or reality. I will never know….

Lillian Chapter 4

Chapter 1

On a misty summer evening in a terribly tiny town off the coast of the Himalayas two adventurous brothers set off on a journey to the crooked caves in the Himalayan horrors.

Let us start at the start. They had started planning this many moons ago in 2022. It all started when George went to check the mysterious mailbox and found a little red gem. His eyes were glued to it, after all he was a magpie. He took it back and showed it to his brother. Fred researched this gem and discovered they could find some more like this in the Crooked caves.

The night before their adventure they snuck into the weapons room hoping their parents were sound asleep they raided the cupboards in hope of finding a weapon suitable for the quest.

They zoomed along until Fred flew slap bang into a tree and landed dramatically on the floor. They carried on slowly on foot after both broke their wings when George tried to carry Fred and flew into a bold Stag headed to the village covered in armour. It was no ordinary armour but ruby armour which could only be defeated by a magical ruby. Sadly, the one they had was a normal non magical one.

They had to save the village. They tried to hide in thick trees of the beautiful gracious fantastical forest. It was so calm but so alarming where had all the animals gone? In the end they found an abandoned hole in a short mouldy tree.

Well at least they will not see us, said Fred, still trying to find a positive thing. But little did they know that was not true.

Chapter 2

The next day George woke up to the sound of crunching. Outside in the forest he saw a massive black outline that looked like a lion devouring a rotten fox crunching and munching along. George screamed his heart out and woke up Fred who bravely approached this outline, drew his dagger, and stabbed … a MOUSE!

“See” said Fred “I told you I wasn’t that bad. Why on earth did you wake me up?” Complained Fred.

“To be fair I thought it was a lion, you saw it too,” argued George.

“This is not the end of this but for now we need to get that ruby and save our town.” said Fred.

Stealthily, they sneaked out of the tree and headed to the crooked castle. Several hours later they were faced with a river. It was George’s time to shine, he carried his brother along the steppingstones and by dawn they had arrived at the outskirts of the castle.

There were guards all around it, how could they get in? Suddenly they saw something in the distance. Fred ran towards it but before he could get there, he fell on top of George. They had no choice but to follow it.

After a few minutes, they arrived in the castle dungeon with barred windows, they found a hay bale to sleep on and rest their wings.

Outside a storm raged and thunder struck the trees. Inside a flame flickered as a mouse scuttered along the floor, George hid in the corner and the argument from earlier continued.

“I knew I was right.”

“No, I’m right.”

“Say’s the person cowering behind a hay bale.” As the evening got darker, the conversation started to die down and soon both were sound asleep.

Chapter 3

They woke up to the sound of a chattering ruby robin, at the start Fred watched as it danced over the cold dusty window ledge until suddenly, he realized it was calling for backup…

Before you could say ruby racer, a shining magical cheetah had appeared, but it disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared. George spun around to grab Fred, but he was nowhere to be seen. The stag then reappeared and took George. Where had they gone?

Sam Ryder, their leader, was a bold selfless man wearing sturdy ruby armour, holding a ginormous teddy bear was quite a site to see and seemed very pleased to have captured the brothers who had been blindly trying to kill their species.

George had started hallucinating in the prison on the top of the Himalayan horrors. Several hours later they had got back on track, reached the looming lake of lochnes and saw the dangers.

They tried to walk around, but wherever they went it seemed to follow them. Finally, they decided they must go through Fred the scaredy cat as always pushed his brother in “You go first.” decided Fred and so George started to swim, and little did he know treading on the monster and awakened it. He carried on swimming to the other side, but when Fred started the monster had risen. Surprisingly, Fred used this as a slide all the way to the other side shakily and there it was right in front of them, The Himalayan Horrors.

Chapter 4

Shakily, they started to walk towards the castle and more easily than expected the door creaked open and they entered. As expected, there was their former enemy Sam Rider, a young noble man, covered from head to toe in ruby armour and in his hand the greatest weapon of all time the magical ruby and in the other hand an emerald pair of nun chucks his only disadvantage being his poor eyesight.

They fought for hours one on top of each other dodging and attacking but finally Sam covered in bird poo and stuck to the wall admitted defeat and so George sat on top, but there was no time to lose. Fred had already started searching through Sam’s pockets for the ruby and had found it in no time but suddenly, he realised it was not there but in a highly protected glass box they had no eye scan or fingerprint device key. The one in Sam’s pocket must have been a fake, soon enough they figured it out and just smashed the glass to retrieve it. Fred held it and his wing healed, George did the same.

As they returned the village, gliding glamorously across the lake and forest where memories had been made, but there was still one more to be made. George dropped down into the angry mob below never to be seen again Fred, still with the ruby, flew like the wind and landed just in time to see the whole village burst into flame.

Fred wanted to commit suicide but luckily before he did, he saw something down below in flames. It was the ruby army they weren’t as powerful as they thought after all, but where were his parents after searching for days, he had found them in the holes of trees turns out they set fire to the army and escaped so did the rest of the village who were living in other trees and that is where they now live but the main question was what happened to George? But Fred preferred not to talk about it until one day they found him half alive half dead at their doorstep … They threw a party meanwhile over in his castle still stuck to the wall Sam Ryder listened to Spaceman.

I have never

I have never …

I have never travelled back in time to the Victorian Era and tasted a rabid rotten pineapple

but I have had a fresh pineapple on new year.

I have never fought a Ninja in the middle of the night at Buckingham palace

but I have fought my friend at school.

I have never run 100miles whilst slaying a rouge dragon that breathes fire

but I have slowly plodded around the football field with my friends.

I have never driven a tank through Carno

but I have ridden a train on the track behind my garden.

I have never written a novel as long as Harry Potter

but I have written a poem about what I have done.

I want to paint

I want to paint

I want to paint the colours of sunset glistening beautifully as it slowly fades to black.

A ray of sun shining down on all the farm animals on a hot sunny day.

I want to paint the waves dancing along the water gracefully soaking anyone who touches it.

I want to paint my border collie barking wildly from the window as the postman carefully reverses onto the drive.

I want to paint a rabbit hopping along in a lush emerald field full of apple trees.

I want to paint the memory of my dangerous dog chasing its stick as fast as a cheetah.

I want to paint a sweet potato slowly coming apart as it cooks in the oven.

I want to paint a balloon drifting slowly across the beautiful sunset.

I want to paint a tree in autumn with leaves mid-flight frozen in time.

I want to paint the end of this poem with the final words falling away into the dark of nothingness.
