When the clouds form

Joe Haylock hadn’t wanted to leave home. He was in his bedroom(the attic) and glared out the window. All he could see was a snow covered field. The room smelt damp as it was wet from the windows not being open. This room was where Mrs Butcher’s son slept before he went to fight. Mrs Butcher didn’t like speaking about her son. Joe then knew not to talk about war.

Joe’s first day at school had flew past. His teacher wasn’t perfect but good enough. He was called Mr Leed. After a day, Mr Leed found out that Joe wasn’t really good at anything! Joe sits at the back of the school room(which is probably why he can’t do anything). His writing looked like a couple of scribbles. Joe was always sad until the school bell rang and he flew out of the door.

Weeks kept coming and going but Joe had a routine to keep him busy every day. The day was mostly school but when he got home, he would do lots of chores. Always the same things. Before you knew it, winter had been and gone. Spring had then arrived and Joe had a new chore which was to pick the crops from the nearby field. He didn’t even know some of the crops existed! He took the eggs from the chickens every so often and he also had to milk the cow every day.

The moon shone down at the floor and the stars twinkled! It was a really dark night. Lanterns were lighting up the streets and it looked beautiful. Joe kept thinking that zombies are going to attack him but he knew they weren’t real. He got to scared and ran back to Mrs Butcher.

Before he got back to his new home, a tree of berries shook without a little hush of wind! Joe smelt something smelly and meaty. Two red eyes appeared through holes and he heard a ‘roarrr’. It was enormous! Joe screamed. His mum already knew this huge animal but joe didn’t know Mrs Butcher whispered “Meet Clara, she’s a cheetah!” “I found her years ago!”

Clara started walking up to Joe. He was petrified.

Evacuee letter

28 Cherry Lane

Kent

1st September 1939

Dear Mam,

Thanks for the roasted carrot you gave me before the journey, it kept me nice and toasty! It felt like it took forever to get there, but it’s alright because I my friends to comfort me. We finally arrived (after which felt like forever) in Kent. It is a little bit scary around here, but I know I’m safe from the  bombs. It is a green valley and it is very quiet. I’m definitely safe.

Lots of the adults came and were choosing which child they wanted, and I was lucky because I was one of the first children to be chosen. I didn’t know why though. I must have been the lucky girl! My new parents already had a child, but that didn’t bother me.

My new family took me to my home, and I started to feel a bit better. I was still feeling worried though. My new mom and dad were called Mr and Mrs Garold, but my new dad went to fight in the war. My brother is called Theodore, and I think he likes me. When we got into our new home, I got a hot cup of milk, a cookie and a hug. It was delightful! I’m feeling worried but excited at the same time. I sleep in the attic (which is also where Theodore sleeps) and I have a comftable bed. I started to enjoy this new house, but I still wish I could go back home. I’m expected to do chores there and then, and I always help cook tea every night. It’s like I have my own timetable!

My school is a very small place but it has many, many children. It is very squashed. I’m very lucky that I get educated though. Depending on what teacher we have, we do good and bad things. Sometimes, I think they want us to be soldiers! On other occasions, we have to pick our own food from the vegetable patch!

The purple storm

The Purple Storm

This storm is made from –

The crispy, brown leaves left from autumn-

Purple paint that colors the storm-

A giraffe’s tongue that is soggy-

Also a cardboard box that was found in recycling.

The storm can be found in-

A variety of different temperature places-

Disneyworld in North America, that when Mickey Mouse comes out everyone flies-

Or even meeting with the penguins in Antarctica-

It could also be near places with the recycling bin fallen over.

The purple storm can-

Spray paint into the sky, onto the clouds-

It doesn’t knock over any people because if it did, it would disappear into the unknown-

It stomps on people’s feet with it pointy shoes.

If the storm is ever lost-

There will be no such color as purple anymore-

Pointy shoes will disappear-

The places it appears will be an aqua world.

My imagination poem

The lake is

as blue as a summer sky,

like the birds are swimming in a pool (but it is the sky),

how beautiful

A star is

as bright as a blinding light,

like a diamond glow in the sky,

shimmer and shine

A cloud is

as fluffy as the inside of a stuffed animal

like a toasted marshmallow,

so squishy

A ring is

as round as Saturn,

like a hula-hoop,

very round

The crescent moon is

as bright as the sun,

like the shape of a croissant

how lovely.

The ship of silence

Silence struck the deck,

When you freeze,

You hear the waves hitting,

Souls whispering quietly,

Whilst tiptoes are heard from far away.

The sails roe up from below,

Telling other pirates that we are close,

A massive skull unfolds from creases,

Whilst the rope is being pulled,

The captain strokes his long, brown beard ,

As he trampled over the plank,

A deep, blue sea underneath,

Waiting for people to fall in.

The oars gushing through the water,

Rowing back and forth,

Leading the ship through the sea,

Off to safety.

Weird but wonderful things

I wore the green mask and tasted

The juice off a crunchy grape,

The apple shampoo which dripped off my hair,

The fresh nature off the bush.

I wore the blue mask and heard

Birds flying in the summer sky,

The waves of the shimmering ocean,

The sound of the blue raspberry slush machine.

I wore the pink mask and saw

Pink paint waiting to go onto the wall,

Strawberry yogurt glaring at the spoon,

A pig covered in thick, brown mud.

I wore the red mask and touched

The tiny seeds off the round raspberry,

Soft, red roses freshly picked,

A crunchy, chocolate glazed strawberry.

I wore the gold mask and smelt

Shimmering gold locked in the safe,

Gold paint in a clear pot,

A crown with five emeralds.

Blog post

I ran through the pitch-black forest, finally looking up at the star covered sky, unaware of my surroundings.sweat raced down my pale forehead,I told myself to stop , but I could hear the footsteps behind me catching up to me. I couldn’t look back, not if I wanted to live. Then I stopped. A towering tree blocked my path,I searched through my bag: some sandwiches, socks and some garden tools.I looked around; trees towering ; broken branches. Soon a wall of mist overtook me;nothing could be sen. Then I heard it

After dinner, the car accelerated at the lights, drove around the corner swiftly, and came to a halt whilst turning off the radio cautiously

in the early morning , the dragon landed in the car park , crawled towards the school gently, and paused before letting out a sneeze, blowing a few cars over

At 3:AM the starship hovered over the concert, aimed its laser beams viciously and fired whilst it gulped up a human

Blog challenge

Although it was snowing, I wore a shirt

There was an odd sound before I played my music very loudly

After I fed the shark, it was silent

As no one was there, I took my time

Whenever there was a bad smell, I brought a gas mask.
