Felix sat down in the shed, staring at the floor in despair, whilst Rositá looked around the room hoping to find an exit. She checked the door and the window but there was nothing she could do – the shed was locked uptight. Frustrated and angry, she snapped at Felix, “Why don’t you make yourself useful for once!’’ But instead of helping, Felix just let out a big sigh that told Rositá that there was no hope for them. Rositá tapped her foot and raged with anger. There was no exit for them to escape, and even worse Felix had seemed to have given up.

As the darkness covered the sky, inside, shadows danced in the moonlight. Outside, the stars glowed and showed off their moves like envious people. Instantly, Rositá heard footsteps. Within seconds, before their eyes they saw a mechanical figure. Blue eyes emerged- It was Antoni, their mechanical cat who had come to rescue them. Antoni dropped a key in Rositá’s palm and she quickly rushed for the door.

Rummaging through the lock, Rositá unlocked the door. The two children slipped out of the shed and followed their friendly furry companion. They were free, but there were some questions still to be answered: where was the doctor and that ancient clock?

I met a girl called Sunshine,

Every morning she would sing 

A sweet melody

And her eyes will shine

With the bright sunlight

She would call the sun 

That listened to her well

And she would dance with the daffodils.

I met a boy called Moonlight,

His eyes were as dark 

As the shadows

And he was pale 

Everyday at night

He would sing to the star

That glistened as he spoke.

I met a man named Madness,

He was as grumpy as a kid 

And his eyes were bloodshot red

He had a voice of erupting lava

That made you jump

With a fright

And he spoke the words of corruption.

I met a woman named Tiger, 

She had stripy skin

That shone brighter

Than the sun 

And her eyes were deep ambur

She slept curled up at night

And roared with her might.

In the land of Mysteriouswonders, I found a crystal coated gem glimmering in the pale darkness.

In the land of Mysteriouswonders, I saw a glowing cactus shining its spikes like an angel.

In the land of Mysteriouswonders, I touched the saddened  memorise of a lost troll.

In the land of Mysteriouswonders, I smelt shadow like misty air.

 In the land of Mysteriouswonder,I found mind-blowing Questions that confuses me.

In the land of Mysteriouswonders, I sang to the moon as if we were opera singers.

In the land of Mysteriouswonders, I heard the voice of a crying angel. 

In the land of Mysteriouswonders, I smelt the fur of teeth whitening cloud.

 3 days and we are in my cubbyhole. We sit on the table whilst eating some croissants and scrambled eggs, my favourite. Outside the window, a gust of strong wind swirled around the town. Inside, we are as warm as a blazing fire. But Rose has plans. ‘’Katie you have got to help me please’’. Here we go again, I thought. ‘’I’ve seen where it lives.”

It seems as if Rose has spent over an hour in that bitter cold, walking around the beach and searching all over the streets. She declared to have seen some strange sightings, just like the sighting we saw at the abandoned household but these are by the hills where there are many creatures living among the rocks.

 I lock up the great doors of the hotel before we switched on our torches to light the way. This time I wore my cosy coat and I made sure I had gloves and comfy socks on. We followed the curved streets of the bay until reach the hills. No one in this town is allowed to go this deep in the beach. It’s very risky. But still I have to go with Rose.

 I didn’t believe Rose the first time but the strange sightings were very strange. There were marks all over the fields. And they led to a cave nearby. I felt as if Rose had tricked me into coming here and risking my life. ‘’ Come on Katie, we don’t want to waste time’’, Rose assured me

 The cave smells like crushed fish. The rocks glimmer as I shine upon them. My heart was beating so fast I couldn’t even feel my feet. Oh those are just my socks. I was thinking maybe there was nothing there but sadly Rose spots something. There in front of my eyes I saw it, A nest filled with cow sized eggs. The mermander has babies.

 In that very moment, I feel a load of guilt down my spine. We shouldn’t be going through peoples nests. ‘’ Let’s leave’’, I whispered in Rose’s ear and turned away. But  I can see something slithered in the entrance of the cave.It hisses and it sounds as if it were telling us to get out. And it sounded familiar and before  I could take a closer look Rose pushed me behind the rocks. And before my eyes I saw the mermander.
