The sun hardly began to rise in Mermaina as the trio had spent the night sleeping on a pile of seaweed. The eldest rabbits awoke and were stranded at the edge of the rocky island border. Pippin woke up with a sweet yawn as Peisley cuddled him tightly. Penelope was looking around as she saw the same robin that delivered the sad letter that began the strange adventure. The robin twittered and Paisley said, “ Luckily I bothered to learn bird language.” The robin said that the Gorm was coming closer by the second and that we shouldn’t settle here. “ We have to start the adventure again!” Penelpe said, “We should head for the forest and lukilly have to pass the sunny Axlotia, quick lets go!”
The trio ran worriedly towards the bridge that led them to Axlotia but Penelope was too frightened to cross the long, wobbly bridge and kept thinking about it until they came to the point where she had to cross it. Paisley tried to persuade her and so did Pippin but she couldn’t even think about it. Suddenly, a gentle voice was heard coming from a shell. One of the Merabit’s was singing a graceful song and Penelope suddenly felt braver to cross.
A couple of hours later, the haggard troupe found themselves on the path in Axlotia. “ We should look at our backs, the Gorm can be anywhere, they could even be in the forest we are heading to!” exclaimed Paisley. On their way, they saw a spiritualistic well that opened up with a raindrop key and a strange hole that seemed like it never ended.
Pippin started screaming ,“Food, Food, Hungwy, I want food!”
“Well I guess we have to go find some food, we haven’t had anything for breakfast” ,said Penelope. Paisley sat down on a long, dark log as Penelope searched for food. Paisley was concentrating too hard on looking around for food and didn’t notice Pippin slowly crawling out of his basket. Pippin crawled towards the strange hole as Penelope came back with no food. “Pippin!Pippin!” Penelope screamed, getting Paisley’s attention, but it was too late Pippin fell into the unnatural hole.
“Quick, let’s go in before we lose Pippin!”.They jumped into the hole with the basket, and both remained surprised it wasn’t deep. “Pippin! here you are!” Paisley said, running up to him and putting him in the basket and said, ”Why would Pippin want to come in here?” . Penelope spotted three sandwiches, “Look, some food!” They ran towards the food happily but noticed there was a letter.
Penelope read the letter and gasped, “We need to get out of here! Quick!”. The letter said For Scramashank which meant it was for the Gorm Leader! They quickly got out of the underground cave grabbing the sandwiches. They found a tree tunnel and hid in there eating the Gorm’s sandwiches. They didn’t know what the note meant but all they knew was that someone made sandwiches for Scramashank but they didn’t know who Scramashak was. Suddenly, an idea came to Penelope’s head ,”oh oh, I think we stole the Gorms sandwiches!” Penelope said as Paisley then added, ”But how? We have no proof and it’s impossible that they have a cave right here, how can they?” But then Penelope explained ,” Yes but if you think about it, how can the Gorm know we are here, there are lots of other lands and another thing is there was silver armour in there too so I think we stole sandwiches from the wrong people!” This could only mean that trouble would follow…
