You’ve probably been calm where you can imagine gentle waves in the sea and birds bobbing up and down with the soft breeze. But now imagine that nervous feeling you get before you go on stage or do a presentation where butterflies and caterpillars fill up your stomach.
Chapter 1
Thomas gripped the metal bar at the end of the sky ship, as his face stretched in horror. He looked around at his twin sister Saphron who seemed to be thinking it was fun as the ship lurched from left to right. They had left the city about two weeks ago and should have been passing by the deadly mountains but this storm thrown them off their track.
At that moment, the wind monster flew from its clouds out of nowhere. Thomas saw four of them appear, and a rush of wind flew towards the Bluebell Moon. Captain Orro pulled the tiller away to the side, just avoiding disaster and in one speedy movement turned the engines as hard as she could.
For a minute the dragons disappeared as she steered the sky ship into a massive storm cloud so they could hide. Roaring thunder and lightning struck around them then the electricity whizzed, fizzed and crackled. Saphron glanced at Thomas but it meant nothing. The clouds blocked its view, “Hold on! We’re going down!” Captain Orro yelled over the telescope.
Sometime later, the Bluebell Moon sunk below the clouds as the air slowly flowed out of the engine. They drifted down, moving from side to side. Thomas and Saphron looked around, searching for the wind monsters. Had they managed to escape them?
