Remarkale Doors

Carefully, go and open the midnight door,

perhaps you’ll see-

a hopeful shadow looming over you, with a face as black as coal,

a sky so pretty a fairy would choose to fly in it

or a flapping bat waiting to catch its prey.

Cautiously, go and open the aquamarine door,

perhaps you’ll see-

beaming bluebells in a meadow calling your name,

a sky as blue as a butterfly’s wings trying to fly

or an ocean glittering gorgeously.

Slowly, tiptoe and open the crimson door,

perhaps you’ll see-

a field of poppies swimming in blood,

a fire flickering in the moonlight

or ruby red necklace glimmering like the rising sun.

Quinn’s house

I stood in the room of thunder and I heard its crackling voice.

I stood in the room of space and floated away in the gigantic galaxy.

I stood in the room of Halloween and ghosts as white as snow flew around me.

I stood in the room of Christmas and the lights twinkled like stars in the sky.

I stood in the room of salty seas and sharks that swam sharply.

Amber’s Country Cottage

Amber’s Country Cottage

I stood in the room of trees, the branches waved like old friends.

I stood in the room of questions, silently screaming the answers.

I stood in the room of food and saw plates of pasta winking at me.

I stood in the room of feelings, reliving old memories as happy as the day they happened.

Finally I stood in the room of books and pages flapped like a butterfly’s wings trying to escape a spider’s web.

Jago’s Jail

Jago’s Jail

I stood in the room of death, souls and spirits drifted in eternal torment.

I stood in the room of doors, dark oak apertures opened their jaws to me.

I stood in the room of cooking, cutlery clattering as dentures droned.

I stood in the room of eyes and I saw only darkness.

I stood in the room of energy, volts zapping like lazers.

Finally, I wandered into the room of liens and I moulded into jelly.
