Dear Ma,
When we arrived at the station, I could not help but cry as you gave me one last hug.First, we settled down on the train and read a book. Hoping we were going to go to a nice house, we played with paper and made paper jets. After a while, the train stopped and we stopped on the platform.
Eventually,a smart old man asked me my name and the next thing I knew, he was taking me to my new home. It was full of dogs and it smelt good. The garden was big.
That night, I tried to go to sleep but the bed felt hard. Just sleeping in it reminded me of the beds at home and this bed was very small.
In the morning, I had to go to school which was a long way from home but it was fun. I made lots of friends including Jack. We played different games each day and Jack was very good at art.
Every evening, Mr Paul,as he was called, told me about his wife Annie who died when he went to war.She had long dark brown hair and light blue eyes. They even had a son together.
Once school was over, I ran back across the tiny road but there were big dogs so I had to run and try to be quiet.
All my love
Tommy
