Finally, they were ready to leave. That morning, on Moon News it said that Death Fleet was only a few miles off from Freak Forest. Many animals could be slaughtered. The old wizards tunnels had been built eons ago so it would be too dangerous to travel through.

Three wolves, Adam, Tyler and Caden, left their cabin. Their journey to safety would take four long weeks but first they would have to pass through Freak Forest, go over Dim Lake and then go past Corn Hills, around Ragnarok, take a boat to Rock Beach and sail to Frown Town. Even Death Fleet can’t make that journey. Once the brothers would get there they would be safe. Other wolves left and went elsewhere but their mother gave them a sacred map that showed the old paths of this whole world.

Clutching the map, the group of wolves pounced over Dim Lake. Soon they were at Corn Hills trying to survive the harsh weather. The gargantuan mountains towered over them. Quickly, Adam took the lead. Behind Adam was Tyler, playing with Caden who was the youngest of the lot. Adam was paranoid, wherever he looked he saw the Death Fleet with their knife sharp spears,

Cautiously, they tracked down their elder brother’s footprints. Tyler was chasing Caden but eventually they all started building a shelter. Quickly gathering branches and twigs, they had built a shelter. Adam filled the gaps with moss until even light couldn’t get in so Caden turned on his lamp.

That night, they ate pieces of cooked meat, frown cakes and dim berries that their mother packed. Tyler and Caden were fast asleep but Adam sat there staying awake since he was on guard duty for that whole hour. Adam closed the door hoping it would hide them from prying eyes. Caden thought the meat was the most delicious but all that food left a nasty smell.

As Adam drifted into sleep, his mind swirled with dreams and thoughts of what would happen if Death Fleet found them, swarming them into a pit of fear. Would they ever reach the safety of Frown Town?
