Magic Sky – continued

Part 1

The sparkling orange sun rose above the vivid blue sky. Rose sprang out of her bed. It was a beautiful day to go on the airship. Next door, Jake was feeling the same. The picturesque sight of daffodils painted the soft grassy ground a bright yellow.

Across the road was Maddie. She felt as cheerful as the others, but unexpectedly, it wasn’t bright anymore outside. It swiftly changed to a stormy grey and a flamey lightning bolt licked the miserable sky. Coincidentally, all three of them got dressed quickly, went downstairs, and opened their front doors. Water trickled down their faces. Even though it turned like this, they were still determined to go on the airship. They walked down the road speedily. They finally reached the airship. Rose was nervous. She has never been brave. Jake was good at fixing things very professionally, so if they ever broke down, they weren’t going to stop. Maddie was very good at spotting things, so they could always see fascinating sights.

They stepped on the airship, and started it. A couple of minutes later, they were high in the sky. The rain splattered on their faces. It was very unpleasant. Jake was controlling the ship very delicately. Rose was relaxing on the sofa and Maddie was looking out for unicorns.

Suddenly, there was a terrifying roar echoing in the distance. It sounded like dragons! There was fire coming towards their airship. Of course, Rose panicked. Maddie stopped her unicorn spotting and Jake turned the airship left. Suddenly, a dragon came forward, desperate to destroy the airship. It breathed fire strongly and roared horribly. The airship caught on fire! Jake had water installed though. So he poured it raging with fury about the dragons. Then, Maddie spotted a unicorn. She called the unicorn desperate for help. Amazingly the unicorn flew up, making a twinkling trail of pink stars. The dragons were scared, but could the unicorn get there in time? Jake needed to land fast so he could fix the ship. They plunged through the clouds and landed with a loud thump. Rose screamed and then there was silence.

Part 2

Maddie gazed along the deep jewel encrusted valley, cloaked with mist. The revolting smell of dripping water met their nostrils, they realised they were in the mouth of a cave. Outside in the distance, clear diamonds sparkled in the light of the melting setting sun. It looked beautiful but they knew they were in danger. Rose was petrified, as still as solid ice.

Jake started to get his complex tools out of his bag to fix the decaying air ship. All they wanted to do was to get back home (Rose mostly). They were in a horrible position. They could still see dark crimson flames spinning through the clouds far away. Reluctantly, Rose and Maddie walked deeper into the cave. Rose was frightened, there was a strong breeze flowing quickly but it was getting weaker. They were looking for unicorn hair, as it chases the evil dragons away. Suddenly, Maddie stopped and grabbed Rose’s arm. They heard footsteps.

Part 3

They stood there like stone, petrified of the atmosphere around them. What was in there? The footsteps got louder. It sounded like claws were tapping against the rocky floor. They got concerned and ran out of the deep, dark cave. Jake was there, he was still working on the ship. They told Jake about the footsteps. He said it might’ve been a Berny-grun Flame which is a sinister and very fast, bat-like dragon. They needed to leave at once! The airship was almost fixed. Jake happily told the news to Rose and Maddie and they grinned. They could carry on with their journey and escape the creature from the cave!

Jake was so clever, that if they didn’t have him, they would be in a horrible disaster. They were all super different, which wasn’t a bad thing. They stepped up onto the airship, delighted to move again. Maddie’s fluorescent bright green eyes stared eagerly down in the fluffy silver clouds. Rose, who was joyfully counting her pebbles she collected earlier, wasn’t as nervous now. Her shiny long hair flowed beautifully in the air. Suddenly, a bit of paper flew out of nowhere, and landed on Rose’s head. It was a letter. She called Maddie and Jake. Desperate to see who it was from, they opened it quickly. Jake read it aloud;

Hello Maddie, Jake and Rose ,

I have come to warn you that the Berny-grun Flames are coming to attack in a little

while. Please watch out. They are extremely dangerous!

Love, Uriah the unicorn

All their mouths widened. Jake’s bright blue eyes were as big as dinner plates. They hadn’t escaped the creature from the cave after all…
