Oliver cut the rope then rushed to the steering wheel. Oliver’s younger sister Naomi 

liked heights and she was looking forward to flying in the sky ship. Nell their dog came too. Nell wagged her tail as she was looking forward to the trip. The sky ship soared through the air and took off with ease. 

The flight had been a pleasure so far but suddenly in the distance they saw a large shadowy fiery object coming towards them. Nell barked with fright. Oliver realised it was a phoenix he started to panic. Naomi gulped with fear. The phoenix got closer and closer and kept on breathing fire at them. Oliver kept on dodging the fire. 

Naomi had a plan. She grabbed the steering wheel off her brother and went through a cloud. The phoenix lost sight of them so it flew away. 

Naomi let her brother steer again and Oliver landed the sky ship in the nearby field.

Now all they had to do was get back home. 

Chapter 2

As they got off the sky ship they looked around. Naomi stared at the grass feeling as shocked as ever. Oliver froze in fear. Nell felt both of their feelings at the same time as she barked in horror. The grass in the field was no longer green it was dark yellow. The grass blew around while the wind howled. It was quiet and also getting dark. Before they decided to go back in the sky ship they saw a shadow getting closer and closer to them. Nell barked as she was scared of the shadow. 

As it got closer they realised it was just a bird. The bird was scared of Oliver and Naomi so it swooped up in the air and reached out its claw that made a hole through the air balloon and flew off. The air that helped them travel all the way to the field inside the air balloon the air  disappeared and it looked like an empty balloon. What will be their next move?

Chapter 3

Oliver was just about to go look for something to fix the air balloon on the sky ship but then suddenly he realised he had a spare air balloon so he blew it up. When they had finished they where about to have a break. Then suddenly Nell barked at the air balloon as it looked like she saw something. Naomi looked up. Just then she saw a baby phoenix on the top of the air balloon. She told Oliver. Oliver grabbed the ladder and climbed up got the baby phoenix and climbed back down. Naomi rushed to her part of the ship. She grabbed a blanket and gave it to Oliver. Oliver put it over the baby phoenix and put it down.

Before the baby phoenix felt cold and was shivering but now it felt warm and safe. Oliver was thinking hard how the baby phoenix got to them. He suddenly thought he knew and told Naomi that the phoenix that was chasing after them before could of been its mother and the baby phoenix could of hopped out its nest and landed here.

Chapter 4

The baby phoenix suddenly went to sleep in Naomi’s hands under the blanket. She put the baby phoenix down carefully on her bed. Naomi walked back on to the deck with he brother as they were about to start to fly the sky ship back into the air. Suddenly a big, dark shadow came flying straight towards the sky ship. Naomi and Oliver didn’t see. Nell did. Nell barked as loud as she could again and again to get Naomi’s and Oliver’s attention. Naomi looked at the shadow in shock and fear. Oliver wondered if it was the baby phoenix’s mother. 

It got very close and landed. Naomi wanted to land the sky ship instead of Oliver, so she did to only get a closer look at the shadow. Naomi wondered what it was and asked her brother Oliver.

Oliver chuckled and it was just the sky ship shuttle that they would of used if their sky ship broke apart. They pulled it  onto the sky ship. It was getting late so Oliver and Naomi started to climb back on the sky ship. Oliver climbed on to her bed and Naomi did too but tried to climb on without waking up the baby phoenix. The baby phoenix woke up, walked to Naomi to snuggle her, and dragged the covers on to both of them.

In the morning Oliver got back to driving the sky ship. A storm was coming closer and closer but he felt normal to be going on adventures so he went away from the storm. Naomi looked at the baby phoenix fast asleep but it suddenly woke up! The baby phoenix couldn’t really walk so it always jumped on to Nell’s back and got a ride. Naomi looked on the map and jumped up and down. She realised that they were nearly back home! Oliver looked at the map too he realised that it would only take one more day to get back home.

The baby phoenix, Nell, Oliver and Naomi needed food. Oliver landed the sky ship and looked for food. He realised he could catch some fish and cook it for him and Naomi. He could try find some meat for the baby phoenix and he remembered he brung a little bit of dog food for Nell. After they ate there lunch, Nell barked as hard as she could. It made a echo. Naomi and Oliver was wondering what Nell was trying to say, but suddenly the baby phoenix’s mother came. They where scared for their life. They made Nell bark as loud as she could to make it fly away. It took a long time. But finally the mother phoenix flew away.
