My Evacuee Letter By Seth SWW Y6

Dear Mother,

I really miss you. Thank you for the toffee, I really enjoyed it. The seats were really comfortable on the train and I had a short nap. I felt excited to meet my new family; but I’m also quite sad that I had to leave you. As I pressed my face against the window, I watched London slowly merge into the countryside. I had my favourite teddy, (Mr Scruffles) by my side too keep me company through out the whole journey.

After what seemed like hours, we finally arrived at the train station, well if you could call it that it was basically just a platform. My legs felt as stiff as a stick as I carefully hopped onto the wooden platform. The billeting officer – a large lady with a booming voice – called Mrs Stuffing kindly helped us find the people who were going too take us. Mrs Stuffing looked like she wasn’t very happy: considering she had a grumpy frown on her miserable face. Mrs Jenkins took me to her house and she had a giant thing called a cow. Anyways, I got to go, its half past nine. I’ll write to you next week.

Miss you lots, love from your beloved son Robert.
