Recipe for calm Isabella SWW
Recipe for calm
by Isabella SWW
Take the water-repellent tail-feathers
from the white-bellied swallow-tailed
kite after watching them fall to the
ground like bricks.
Crush the mahogany cocoa beans to
dust and pour them into the cauldron,
sleeping in their cocoon of white, juicy
flesh.
Break apart the hatred, and crumble it
into a huge pile of nothingness and carry
on with the recipe.
Tear the curtains of the blurred future
and simmer until it becomes clear and
doesn’t talk back at you.
Rip out the ashen pages of disrespect
and disapproval, and melt them until
they turn white, with joy and happiness.
Finally, bake with the heat of the sun
and check every now and again to
make sure the calm isn’t turning from
a white wonder to an ashen degradation.
