Chapter 3 – A dream to a nightmare
Chapter 3 – Dream to nightmare
It was beautiful, a wooden cottage like in a fairy tale, roses climbing and grasping tight on the walls. The door was open a crack so without thought, Ariel stepped in, her heart thumped in the silence. The house had everything you would need: a warm fireplace with comfy couches ; a modern kitchen with China cups and plates; a table for two; and a plate of marmalade sandwiches begging to be eaten.
“Hello, anybody home?” Called Ariel, she wondered if she would accompanied by anybody. But silence met her. She sprinted up the stairs into a hallway and walked into a bedroom, she saw: beautiful knitted things; windows of sunshine met her eyes. There was nobody in any of the other rooms either. For a split second she thought that this house was abandoned!
She had drew a wish in her drawing, but didn’t feel as if it became true. There were no signs of a young lady. Ariel had never met her older sister cause of death. It didn’t feel the best. Then she heard something.
It was something downstairs; it wasn’t exactly footsteps. But a squeaky dragging noise. She peered down the stairs, picked up her courage and dropped her feet down the stairs, step-by-step, trying to stay quite. Ariel halted and glanced into the kitchen, but nothing had moved an inch apart from the steam of a boiling kettle she never noticed.
A minute later, the sound met her ears again. It was screeching this time with plates spinning and cups breaking. Ariel extended her hand to open the door and that’s when she saw it. A tall black figure with metallic stared at her with red bloodshot eyes and knife-sharp teeth. She actually thought this time… She had the thought of running! Ariel screamed and burst through the front door of the house as fast as her legs could take her. She sprinted towards where the door had been.
But the door had been taken over by the darkness. All that was left was trees and grass, stretching like a palm. She then spotted gigantic silhouettes behind chasing her. “Come back,” uttered a voice from a distance!
