The Masks of Mystery

The masks of mystery

I put on the mask of white and could see,

the world became invisible.

I put on the mask of ice and,

felt a shiver go down my spine.

I put on the mask of twists and,

my stomach went inside out.

I wore the mask of snow and saw,

icicles hanging off a roof, on a cold winters’ morning.
