The eyesore emporium

Prologue

There are places that seem odd and out of place and are just out of sight. The Eyesore Emporium fits that description well. Even though the place was snug in between two buildings. Even though it was not a bad place. Even though it did not pop out, it just seemed wrong. nobody liked to go there, except for a curious boy by the name of Jake.

Chapter 1

Jake was a brave boy who loved to go on adventures, his mother always told him to be cautious of strangers, but he never listened to her. He had been saving up his pocket money to get himself some toys from the shop down the street and that is when he come across a shop that seemed out of place next to the other shop and since he was curious, he decided to go in.

Everything looked beautiful inside the emporium, nothing like the outside of it. There was rubies and diamond of every single size, there were bonsai and flowers which were stunning, there was board games of every shape and size, teddy bears, big and small and there was a wonderful rainbow pencil which caught jakes eye. he proceeded to walk over to the pencil “I see you’ve found my wonderous colour pen it is quite special,” a voice hissed from behind him followed by a loud caw. Jake jumped with fear “Who are you?” said jake shakily.

“Why I’m the shopkeeper of course do you like Hector, my pet crow, sorry I got a bit carried away, anyways, what’s your favorite colour?” the shopkeeper asked.

“My favorite colour is Yellow, why are you asking?” Jake questioned. The man brought over a piece of paper and wrote on it, it said in yellow writing

“Would you like to buy it; it also comes with an antique notebook, free of charge?”

“No, I can’t afford it, how much does it cost?” said jake sadly.

“It’s only £9.98” responded the man.

“I’ll come back tomorrow,” replied Jake.

“I don’t think you will, return customers are quite rare,” said the man in a serious tone followed by a caw again. so, Jake left the place and went back home, little did he or the shopkeeper know, Jake would be back.
