Prologue

You’ve probably had a holiday on a skyship with friends and family. In the summer, you would have flown across the city and watched the small dots walking around on the ground far below. When you flew, the blue skies, the warm breeze and that wonderful smell of fresh air greeted you. You probably drifted from island to island while eating your favourite food. Travelling by skyship in the summer is like that.

But, travelling on an expedition to unknown lands is another matter. You should try a skyship journey when the winds are blowing a gale, when lightning strikes and when thunder hits. You should try being there when fire dragons try to burn your skyship down. You should try being there when there is no food or water left in the barrels even though they were full the day be for. Nobody knows for shore what dangerous animals inhabit the remote islands.

Chapter 1 Ashley

The crowds cheered, as the skyship Ewan rose up into the air. Captain James could see the whole world, the engine growled loud into the fresh breeze. Captain James stood steering the skyship his face set in determination and grinning with joy. They were off.

James and Katy peered down as the ship went up and up, the cheering crowds disappeared slowly, until they were just a dot. The Ewan sailed beyond Lontown city, passing over a patchwork of fields.

Within an hour, the Ewan was sailing across the sea. Far below Katy saw fishing boats pleasure yachts and larger ships bringing timber and goods from distant lands. James sighed, “I wonder if we will find Ermitage Wrigglesworth,” he whispered, clicking his fingers. Katy replied, “I wonder if we will come across bad things. Last time we came across rain goblins and fire dragons. that wasn’t fun.”

That night, the weather turned bad, ice balls fell from the sky, rain whipped the ship and the cold winds slashed the sails a sharp blade.

Chapter 2 Ashley

Over the next few weeks, the Ewan sailed through an ice storm, a rain storm and sand storm. One morning, they woke to see that the storms have stopped it was clear all there was. Was a beautiful sun. according to James map this island was called the goblin island.

Peering down from the deck, Captain James Used his telescope and, a moment later, yelled “ready to land!” There was a crashed skyship was it Wigglesworth’s ship?

The rigging stilled; everyone crowed to the deck to see were they are

James and Katy stared across the ruined. To one side a small lake lapped the shoreline. On the other side a thick forest went for miles and miles. Above, the sun brightened more all sweeting.

The crew descended by a rope and began to search the wreckage. Kate crept into what looked like an on bored shelter and gave a shout, “Look!” she shouted, it is a signature on a piece of paper in red stuff which looks like blood.

“We’ll set up camp here” he called, “and tomorrow we’ll search for Ermitage Wrigglesworth Sooner rather then later, camp had been set up. As the shadows lengthened and the sun dipped behind the waters edge James and Katy sat on a log besides the fire that they maid like five minutes ago.

It was at that moment, that James thought that he had saw something

A shadow of a Smokey outline and it looks like a person. A branch snapped and the sound of sand crunching. A bush rustled James was scared. He stared into the darkness between the trees and felt cursed.

Chapter 3

In the morning, captain James got the crew into a line and soon everyone was set off to complete a variety of tasks and urgent jobs that needed to be done. One group went on a search for good water. Kate was by herself, she was instructed to guard the ship.

James realised that he hadn’t seen Kate that day. It is discovered that Kate is missing an investigation was planned they all spread everywhere they were on the hunt.

James headed into the edge of the forest and peered between the trees, there were shadows of sharp pine cones hanging from the branch that it grew on. The sunlight just peered through so James could see a bit of the forest. There was a shifting between the trees, but what was it?

Slowly and deliberately, a large sharp drifted towards him. He saw two beady green eyes. It was like his mind heard a voice saying, “come to me it is safe and sound.” It was a deep calm voice. Forwards from the dark forest out stepped a big brown grizzly bear. James was froze its stare fixed him. No escape.

Thought- grizzly bears are rare. They are able to not only speak but in your mined of other creatures and bend of there will. It is fortunate that such a creature is well-disposed towards humans!

James was delighted to be reunited with Kate. inside the caves is where James Thought-bears live but it must live in Mr wriggles Werth’s skyship.

They had been caring for Ermitage after his skyship had crashed. The chief was an enormous bear of grate age. It Sayed into their heads,” sky goblins are close.”  “you will need this it is a special stone.”

With the thought-bears’ help, the children tack Ermitage back to Ewan. Captain James and his crew had come back to the ship and Kate and James stuttered out the warning. Suddenly all members came into action. Beating the locks that hold down the sky ready to take off.

But it was too late.
