Buttercup flowers twinkle in the night

like stars dancing around. 

Their chestnut roots

like wire,clutched their roots

deep into the soil

that crumbled

like sponge cake.

Its petals were as smooth 

as silver satin

and its leaves were

coloured a canary yellow

There were beautiful golden fruits 

that reflected on the sun’s light.

Their stems would sway, 

like they were dancing 

in the wind.

You could see tiny pieces of pollen

hidden within the flower.
