Chapter 3

Aisha had sat down in the barn, looking at the dirty hay and 2 mice running around in circles. Hannah was trying to look for a hammer or something that could bash one of the wooden barn walls.  She tried peeking through the tiny holes in the walls but it was so small she could barely see anything, nor  shouting and screaming for help worked either. She had looked at Aisha because of her negativity she wouldn’t help look for clues. “Maybe instead of laying down in a miserable way, could you at least try looking like someone who’s making a whole better effort than that?” Aisha breathed in and then out, she replied that there’s nothing that could help them now, negativity had taken over Aisha’s confidence. Worse, she had given up helping.

As the gloomy day fell, the barn became freezing cold. Inside, shadows were taking up every corner of the barn. Outside, stars had spread out with a half moon gleaming its moonlight at Ballerina’s obstacle. As a minute passed, she heard a small, “Meow” She looked through the tiny holes but saw blurry teal eyes. A purr had awakened the dark night sky. It was Tiger, her mechanical cat. Hannah wound him up, and Tiger dropped a huge key in her hand.

As she used the key, Hannah unlocked the barn door. Hannah and Aisha had crouched down and sneaked behind a tree. Aisha had matches in her pocket so she lit a fire. Hannah had talked through everything they had found out. They were free, but answers were still needed: Where is the precious pendant, and what happened to Amna Catseye?
