The moon is…
The moon is
As silver as a crystal on a ring
Like a sparkling diamond
Bright sight.
A llama is
As fluffy as a pompom
Like a warm jacket
Savage spitter.
A rose is
As red as a blushing tomato
Like a bloodshot eye
Prickling beauty.
A pillow is
As soft as a pink marshmallow
Like a stick of candyfloss
Sleep bringer.
What a great poem, Lydia! We speak a lot on TeachingLive about cliches – where we use similes and metaphors that we have heard before. Usually, they don’t work, but in your last verse about pillows it does work. I think it is because the rest of the poem is so original. Well done!
Great poem Lydia! I love it so much! My favourite part is as red as a blushing tomato! Loved it!
Amazing poem, Lydia! I especially love the verse about the pillow-it nearly made me fall asleep!
Thank you, I enjoyed it!
