Dear Mum
Dear Mum,
Thank you very much for the chicken soup I ate while I was on the bus, and it kept me warm and full. We went to a place called Chalstreet. It’s very windy out here and cold. It has a lot of silver white snow.
I am staying with Mrs Serbian
In a small house. We get orange juice from the market that is near us. When I arrived, she made me get clean with very cold water before I came into the house. She talks in a creepy way but she’s kind and she gave me a sweet delicious tasty corn.
I sleep in a room at the top of the house where I can see the beautiful view. At night, I can hear wolves, foxes and owls. I help Mrs. Serbian with jobs like helping her do the dishes, feeding the animals such as Gertie, and collecting eggs from the chickens. It is very quiet here, and there are no cars, planes, or buses.
I go to a small school near us. I am learning to improve my handwriting and my maths to improve my times tables. We eat lunch out. Mrs. Serbian gives me sandwiches that are just simple, there is beetroot inside. I play games with the other children, like hopscotch.
And marbles.
I miss you, Dad, and Sofi. I hope Dad is safe. Can you please write back to me.
Love,
Henry
