letter home
Thank you for the blanket. It made me feel warm and cosy all throughout the train ride. I finally arrived in Little Whinging, a small town with beautiful fields. It’s nothing like Godric’s hollow.
When we got there, people chose which children they wanted.I was picked after 5 or 6 people. It reminds me of the market.I’m staying with Edward in a little cottage. He has a pet parrot and he lets me feed him. We got vegetables from the garden. He gave me some food and a hot drink since I was cold.
I have a small room next to the library with a beautiful view.I pray every day and night for you and Dad. I help Edward with feeding Jacob (the parrot) and washing the vegetables ready for dinner. He is very kind hearted and plays games with me all the time. I am lucky he picked me.
I go to a school just down the road and always take my gas mask, like you said. I learnt to spell, count and write. For lunch I got a sandwich with an apple and carrots.
Sometimes he packs me a sandwich with celery sticks. Some of the boys at school eat beetroot on the way. I tried one and it was too hard!
The other children are friendly and have taught me games. The girls play hopscotch and the boys play jump rope.
I miss you and Dad. I hope Dad is safe and comes home soon. Please write back.
Love,
Renesmee
