Minnie glazed  at Aurora, his diamond looking eyes were as blue as the sky.His beautiful dotty coat shone in the night sky. Aurora saw his sharp claws and his huge whiskers waving in the wind. He sniffed for food and his ears were always alert for anything that was to come his way

To her surprise, Minnie stretched open his mouth showing off his pointy, sharp, meat-ripping teeth. He sniffed to make sure Aurora wasn’t bad and licked her hand, a bit rough but cute. Aurora remained silent.

“ He definitely loves you,” said Mrs Jasmine. As Minnie walked away into the bushes, they were on their way back to their cottage. The moon lit the way back and the wind howled every second. Aurora froze— Was someone spying on them? As she looked back she could see the same gorgeous eyes that the cheetah had near the river.

“ He’s a bit of a sneaky one,” Mrs Jasmine whispered, talking about Minnie. “ I found him on the way to a shop starving in the freezing cold.Looked like someone probably had abandoned him when the war started” “I took him  to a shed when he was young, and fed and cared for him” He grew fast but no one knew, if they saw him they would shoot him dead!

Ever since that night, Aurora dreamed about his rough tongue and his beautiful ocean eyes. His eyes were cold but to her they warmed her heart.

Day after day, she visited him, bringing meat each time along with some water in case he got thirsty. Aurora taught him how to set chicken traps, rabbit traps and mice traps. Sometimes Aurora would catch mice but before she would give it to Minnie he would’ve already snatched it before hiding in a bush. He hunted too, he would even be generous and give some to Aurora even if she was a human, who doesn’t eat mice or rabbits or stuff like that.

One day, he let Aurora pet him. He would always check Aurora’s pocket for food, purring sweetly.  Aurora had changed her habit. Mrs Jasmine could always hear Aurora hum a beautiful melody as she did her daily chores.

As summer spread its sunshine across the village, she watched as the cheetah and Aurora played calmly. Their secret keeps them together.
