The Mystery Animal
Melvin glanced at Yvie, his dark brown eyes shimmered like the yellow sun rising. His golden fur rippled in the shining sun, brightened like a shiny diamond. Yvie noticed his sharp whiskers like a long beard. His eyes glared all around.
To her amazement, he snuggled up to her, his soft big mane,as cuddly and soft as a teddy bear gave her warmth. He sniffed her hair and licked her hands with his long smooth tongue. Yvie was shaking.
Aww, he seems to like you,” said Miss Williams as the cuddly lion disappeared into the trees.
On their way ba“ck to the village,it looked like a storm was looming.
Yvie paused for a second-were they being followed? For a second,he glanced with his magnificent eyes.
“He will be staring but don’t worry he won’t follow us,” said Miss Willams.
“I found him in the forest when he was a cub,all upset and hungry.I took him in and nursed him.How time flies! But no one should find out-if they saw him they would take him away.”
That night Yvie dreamed of
Melvin, his rippled fur and his shiny, big
mane. When he licked her hand, she was shocked. His eyes were ocean blue.
Every night, she visited the lion with some meat.Emma Johnson taught Yvie how to set deer traps and sometimes he caught a fish when fishing, which Melvin would eat before disappearing.
He often hunted himself too.
One late night, she let Yvie stroke her tail.Soon he was eating out of her pockets.Yvie became more happier and confident.Miss Williams could hear Yvie singing and dancing most of the time.
Through spring, she watched them create a bond.Their secret was safe
