The secret chapter 2

Chapter 2 –

Jacob studied Ressame, his razor sharp teeth shone in the dark. His eyes fixed on the powerless little girl. She noticed the knife-like claws. Her bravery was getting smaller and smaller and smaller till there was nothing left.

To her surprise he opened his mouth, revealing a serrated tongue. He licked her hand. She stood there shocked, not knowing  what to do, ran in fear, stroked him; she was clueless.

“ He likes you Ressame,” claimed Edward, as the wild dog fled into the bushes. On their way back home she felt like something was wrong they were being watched! A steel blue eye stared at them for a while.

“He won’t hurt you,” whispered Edward softy. “He was wounded when I found him. Small little cub.”

That night Ressame dreamed of Jacob as a small harmless little cub.

She shaked softly. His eyes were steel blue. Ressame was cold from the wind.

At noon, she would stop by to feed him. She knew Edward was watching and she also knew Jacob could find his own  food but she wanted to help. He could find cattles and sheep to feed on.

One night while sitting in the field watching the sunset, she found Jacob approaching her. He laid down next to her. She stroked him softly Ressame knew she was is a safe place away from the conflict.

The summer sunset calmed them and they soon had a little trust in each other and fell into a deep sleep.
