Nowhere Emporium chapter 3

With all the courage he had, Thomas crept over to the cottage to find it was exactly as he drew in the book of wonders. He swung the cottage door open and raced inside, hoping to find what he longed for. He stepped into the living room to find it empty and then changed direction for the kitchen – and that was also empty. Finally he came to the dining room. Sitting on the damp and mouldy chair, was a colossal sized, fuzzy, grizzly bear!

Thomas hid under the table next to the door on the opposite side of the room, hoping the bear wouldn’t find him. The bear roared as if it was being attacked by a lion. It stomped over to the table and bent down to find Thomas playing dead. He heard the bear snarl. Seconds later, he opened his eye to see a bear’s face a centimetre away from his own sweat-dripping face. Thomas screamed as loud as he could, hoping someone could hear him; he swept himself of the ground and from under the table then raced through the door as if he was running away from an explosion.

He could see the door in his sight, he ran and he ran until he could just about reach the door. It was locked, so he ran to shelter far away from the cottage and ended up near a very tall tree. Then he saw it: the humongous; brown; fuzzy grizzly bear!

The Nowhere Emporium

Thomas, who was a very curious boy, was walking back from school as he looked in bewilderment. Something wasn’t right. Thomas walked past the Emporium and turned round to find that the doors of the shop (which were always closed) were open. He walked over to the Emporium, to see that there was no-one in there. So, he stepped inside.

He could see a huge block of stone on the wall, there were carvings of hieroglyphics on the  charcoal block. He could see a colossal chandelier that warmed the room with candle flames flickering like a diamond in the centre of the room and in surprise he could see a bowl of treats that said on the side that they were free.

Thomas crept over to the bowl to see if there was anything behind it. He peered over the counter to see a draw half open, Thomas saw the top of a book. He rushed round the counter still wondering who owned the shop, it was the book of wonders. It was the book that people was talking about in his class. There was a voice that pounded over him, “ I see that you have found my book.”

Treasures

I would take my special map,                                                                       to find the best sap.

I would take my steel sword,                                                                        to slay the magical saws.

I would take my magical staff,                                                                         to fight the crystal jiraffe.

I would take my sandwich,                                                                           to keep me full in the desert of quicksand.

I would finally take my compass,                                                                to tell me wich way is North in the cave of glass.

After School

After school, I got on the bus to come home and traffic was horrendous. It was so bad that the bus came to a halt. I waited and waited until I had to get off and walk home. I thought I would get home quicker walking by the canal. It was later than I thought, I looked at my phone and it was 12:30. “What! I need to get home now!” I ran and I ran. I reached the bridge and I heard small footsteps, they got louder until I had the courage to turn round and… I saw a midnight coloured silhouette. I sprinted until I got home.
