The Mask’s Power

I wore the blue mask and saw

An ombre eye, staring menacingly at me,

a rainbow night sky appearing from the ice water

and the power of the sea making tsunamis from the sea bed.

I wore the pink mask and saw

A blossom tree coming out of the cotton candy sky,

the fluffy cotton leaves emerging from the trees

and sun-tinged clouds from the heavenly sky.

I wore the mask of dark purple and saw

The grape sky shimmer from the heavens,

A purple blissing tree forming from the sky

as my body became a lavender flower.

I wore the mask of darkness and saw

An animal from the ebony-iced water,

Black hole forming from the night sky

as the earth was fading into nothingness.

I wore the mask of light and felt

Athena coming out of my eyes,

All darkness forming into light and

Power of all black holes destroyed from the shimmering light.

I wore  the mask of red and saw

The blood shot eyes from a wolf,

People crying in pain,

Dark red water and rain becoming blood.

The Coloured Mask

The Coloured Mask

I wore  a blue mask  and saw

The spherical globe staring me quite firmly in the eye,

the whirl pool dragging the ship into the distance

and a diamond attracting attention.

I wore the orange mask and saw

A phoenix breathing fire into the air,

The sunrise brightening up the sky

The bottle of Fanta leaking through the walls.

I wore the yellow mask and saw

The gorse bush prickling people as they walked past,

the hey bale causing hay fever in the shed

and the sticky note flapping through the white page.

I wore the black mask and saw

The bat flapping its wings through the cave,

the man’s cloak revealing his face

The crows murdering the field.

I wore the brown mask and saw

The chocolate bar retrieved by the little kid

the cow sniffing the bark of the tree

And the glossy conkers falling from the tree.

I wore the white mask and saw

the snow pouring from the sky,

the child licking his ice cream

And the adult pouring the milk into his cup of tea.
