Chapter 3: Increasing danger

Chapter 3

Increasing danger.

“It can’t be!” Captain Annette said, flabbergasted. “Are you the lost explorer?” Asked Captain, knowing the answer already. “I am not lost; I’m just living here.” Revealed Laura October, completely and utterly lying through her teeth. Amy stepped forward and cleared her throat, “I think it’s time that we take you back to the Skyship now, come on everyone. Before we get eaten by these foxes.”

Surprisingly Annie, Annette and Laura obliged.  In no time at all the crew where back on The Manticore. They had only just stepped on deck when Captain Annette heard the battle signal of their worst enemy, Apollo the Greek god of music, poetry, art, prophecy, truth, archery, plague, healing, sun, and light. The sisters had encountered with Apollo many times before, every time ending distinctively badly.

“We must flee!” roared Annie, heroically. “Who said, you where boss missy?” Amy annoyingly asked. “I did you dumb brain mortal.”  “SILENSE. WHE MUST FLEE. IF ANYONE CHOOSES TO IGNORE THIS ADVICE, THEY WILL BE SURE TO DIE A PAINFULL DEATH.” Bellowed Captain Annette. Hastily Annie went bellow deck to get her parachute and enchanted sword. Annie unanticipatedly shrieked, one single long death-defying shriek.

Amy immediately knew what it meant; they were under attack; Apollo had obviously sent a handful of his best lieutenants to raid the ship and kill anyone who was in their way. Scared, Amy told her plan to captain Annette, “First I must find Annette whilst you gather the parachutes and weapons. Second, we jump of deck, plummeting to our deaths …”  Amy broke off, she knew there near to nothing chance that they would survive.

Annette rescued Annie in no time at all. Before anyone could realise what they were doing the whole crew and the obviously senile Laura October had jumped off the edge of the deck and where now falling through the sky. At the last second Amy heard Apollo screech, “COWARDS, GO AHEAD AND DIE IN THE OCEAN, YOU USELLES MORTALS!”  Worrying what might happen, Amy decided to say silent and close her eyes so tightly that it felt like she could never open them again. Annie did the same, on the other hand Laura happily chatted away to the crow watcher. The crow watcher was horrified, how could this lunatic woman be talking about the weather whilst she was most certainly falling to her death?

They landed in the ocean with a loud KEEERRRSPLLATT.

“What, who, where why?”

Chapter 2: Who?

Chapter 2

Who?

Speeding across the deck, Annie hastily gathered all the supplies she needed, which according to her was Duct tape, snacks such as Twirls, Wispa golds, Quavers, Haribo’s and other various delights, blue roll, a Bow and arrow and of course the Marauders map. (Which see secretly snuck inside a secret pocket of her rucksack.) Amy only brought essentials such as a humongous battle axe, a three headed spear and golden sword, you could tell she was the fighting type.

They landed lightly in the middle of a clearing with foxes and bears prowling around Annie excitedly hopped of the face of the skyship, in sheer awe, she had never seen anything like it, it was the most beautiful place she had ever seen. Amy thought differently, she thought it was absolutely disgusting, the foxes where evil wolves in disguise, and the bears where controlled by Voldemort, the clearing was covered with deadly ***** traps and hexes. She had a knack for sensing things like that.

“We’d better get out of here quickly, before we tread on something, or someone attacks us.” Whispered Amy, she did not want to risk being heard by anyone. “WHY? I WANNA STAY HERE WITH THE FOXIES AND BEARS FOOOORR EEVVVVVEEER!” Yelled Annie, stamping her foot and acting like a spoilt brat. “Annie stop, acting like a toddler, and grow up a little, maybe. Is that too much to ask from you?” Captain Annette stubbornly said. Annie shut up but kept on stamping her foot angrily the whole time.  After their brief argument the three set off into the wilderness.

The trees rustled; Amy turned around. To her surprise there was an old lady staring right into her soul. Annie screamed, Amy started to run, and Captain Annette pulled out her battle axe and reclining chariot. “Wait, I’m not here to hurt you. I’m just a harmless lady.” She croaked “An old lady you mean.” Added Annie, still bewildered. “I’m sure I’ve seen you somewhere before, maybe in a book? Pondered Amy. “Of course you’ve seen me before, you dimwit child! I am Laura October, world famous captain of the skyship, The Bismarck. I conquered all of the wonders of this world and I became the best captain in the milky way. AND I STILL AM!!!!!!! THE AMAZING, BEATIFUL, FABULOUS, BRAINY, HEAROIC: CAPTAIN LAURA OCTOBER.”

“I think she’s a little cuckoo.” Whispered Amy to Annie.

Letter of application

2nd of July 2067

Dear Captain Amy Hammerheart,

I am writing to you to apply for a job on the world famous skyship, The Manticore, as a member of crew on your latest journeys. I am hardworking, friendly, a little shy, loyal, and a tiny bit headstrong in all honesty. I hope these qualities will be useful to you on deck.

First of all, I am a very skilled navigating, and have a degree in rough terrain navigation. I am also a part time engineer, therefore if there is any damage, I will be able to fix it in no time at all. However, I am not the best at hearing, and you may need to shout a little louder for me.

Secondly, I am a very experienced skyship driver, as I have been a crew member of crew for various other people countless times. As well as that I am also a great cook and can help in the kitchens at any time. I am able to carry copious amounts of wood and tools for any projects you are creating. I am an accomplished weapon maker and blacksmith. For that reason, I would be one of your main weapon suppliers.

Moreover, I am very skilled at mountain climbing, and not afraid of heights, hence I could look after the Crow’s nest at all weather as I am also a farmer of ten years and used to being out in the cold. Additionally, I am a prized fighter, thus I could fight most of your deadly enemies, such as Basilisk, Acromantulas, three headed dogs, Jabberwocky and Ickabogs, plus I am a licensed weapon user.

Furthermore, I am a very hardworking person who likes a challenge, and will not give up on anything, even if it takes a lifetime. I am sure that I will get on with the crew, as I am unquestionably friendly, and quite goofy at times.

Finally, I am exceedingly keen to join your skyship as I have heard all about your, daring, dangerous adventures.

I hope you consider me as a new member of crew. I am not a fussy eater, I sleep easily, and I will work hard for you.

Yours truly, Lieutenant Catherine Lloyd

P.S. I will have to bring my pet dog, Bruce the miniature Dashund with me, but do not worry he is a small, quick thinking, intelligent dog. (He also does not make a lot of sound.)

Chapter 1, setting off.

Chapter 1

Setting off

It was a cold dark morning at Dunraven castle. Amy was looking through the window knowing that she would never come back. The Avnarchers had come, she had to flee. The only safe place in the whole land was the magical Eagles Point. It was very far and very dangerous.

Amy and her two sisters Annie and Annette opened the big grand castle doors and set off into the world. They did not have a mother or a father to help them, they had both died when they were very young.

After about 2 miles the smallest sister Annette started whining, whining a little to loud, suddenly Amy heard the deafening sound of clinking sound of bronze

They ran like the wind until they found a forest with flaming bright red leaves instead of green. It was the dreaded Flaming Forest. Amy and Annie were old enough to know about it, but Annette was too young to know about the forest. If anyone dared to go into the dreaded forest the whole thing would catch fire and never let anyone out. After the victims had died the forest would suddenly put out the fire. That’s how the leaves where bright red all the time.

It was getting dark, and they needed to sleep they got some branches from a nearby bush and started to build a little den to sleep in. After they finished, they climbed in and tried to fall asleep, but it was very hard with everything that was going on. Would they ever reach the safety of the magical Eagles Point?

I have never.

I have never …

I have never swam the English Channel in 2 hours,

But I have swam a swimming pool in 5 minutes.

I have never ran a marathon in one hour,

But I have ran a mile in 10 minutes.

I have never seen Frankenstein in a castle dungeon,

but I have seen some scary stuff in my cellar.

I have never had a python on my shoulder,

but I have had my pet rabbit on my shoulder.

I have never toasted a spider on the face of the sun,

But I have toasted my mum’s delicious homemade bread.

I have never seen the end of time,

But I have seen the end of this poem.

Catherine.

I want to paint

I want to paint …

I want to paint a daring, devious dragon with scarlet, scaly skin soaring throughout the night sky,

I want to paint a sensational sunset darkening and darkening as thousands of people watch it in amazement,

I want to paint a luscious scarlet strawberry as it’s been delicately picked from a bush,

I want to paint a ferocious fight between an extraordinary eagle and a flabbergasting falcon in pure daylight,

I want to paint a soaring spitfire flying at record high speeds,

I want to paint an overprotective ocean as fierce as a bear protecting it’s cub.

I want to paint a volcano as hot as the boiling sun,

I want to paint the beach of Dunkirk as dreaded as the war so many years ago,

I want to paint a daisy in mid spring sprouting out like a pea in a pod when opened,

I want to paint a cake with frosting of white like the highest peak of Everest,

I want to paint a cheetah as fest as a formula 1 car,

I want to paint a book with pages as delicate as the first flower of spring,

I want to paint the end of time.

Catherine.

You are a…

You are an irate gorilla, charging through the dense jungle like a toddler just learning to run.

You are a perfect poodle pirouetting around your masters legs, dancing in delight as they return home.

You are a mournful moon gradually fading away as the shining sun steals your spot in the sky.

You are a blank book, eagerly awaiting the wise words of the accredited author to complete them.

You are a tiny terrified mouse, scouring the chaotic house in search of a place to hide from the farmers wife and her carving knife!

You are a rickety, old staircase slowly waisting away as you crumble to the floor, forgotten and lost forever.

You are a joyful snowman, silently guarding the playful children as they dash through the snow.

You are a creeping cat, sloping away from the disaster you’ve caused!

You are a grand old oak tree watching from up high as time slowly passes.
