The Journey

The airship roared, fire bellowing out of the iron exhaust pipe, and we were of in a flash. By the time I had adjusted to to sound of the powerful engine, we were already above the clouds. Pip, the miniature poodle yelped in excitement, and Maximus scooped him up in his arms.

”Hold on!” he shouted at me, and I clasped the silver railings. My hair blew back behind me – this was to be a real adventure!

I had spoken too soon. The airship tried its best to stay upright, but unsuccessfully tumbled into a lime green pasture with a bang. The wooden masterpiece went up in flames, me, Pip and Maximus fleeing from the immediate danger we were in. We were now faced with the challenge of getting home…

Five Items For A Sky Journey

  1. A black and deep magenta Ender Fox, ready to steal from a dragon’s den.
  2. A slim, hollow dragon’s skull, to prove my right to be there.
  3. An invisible, reliable compass which only I can see.
  4. An endless, intriguing book for when I get restless.
  5.  A water-tight, light-weight bag in which I can store all of the things above.

The Shed

The old shed stands quiet,

Thinking about the days gone by,

When his doors stood open more often,

And the summer sun blazed in the sky,

Its time then was filled with laughter,

And screams of delight and surprise,

As children played with the treasure,

That the teachers fetched from inside.

But now the lights falling faster,

The winter winds start to bite,

Now the door no longer stands open,

As the seasons snow starts to take flight,

Gone is the laughter of children,

Along with the leaves and the trees,

The shed takes his seasonal slumber,

Awaiting a warm summers breeze.

You are the sound of rapid rain falling from the clouds.

You are a tiny chihuahua walking in the middle of the road.

You are marvellous milk in the fridge almost going out of date.

You are Monday, the first day of the week where everyone gets up for school.

You are a plum as juicy as ever in the aisle waiting to be eaten.
