Scaly-surprise
A Sprocker spaniel is
as bouncy as a bed,
like a trampoline.
House-bounder.
A cat is
as agile as a spy,
like a paratrooper.
Mouse-hunter.
A mouse is
as cautious as a rabbit,
like a robin.
Cat-hider.
A hawk is as
speedy as a Lamborghini,
like a Ferrari.
Sky-racer.
A snake is as
winding as a corkscrew,
like a spiral.
Scaly surprise.
The Hollow Star
The waves snaring at the hull, holding tiny slivers of light.
The mast dancing violently in the star-storm.
The tiller made of fragments of space moving uncontrollably.
The bow is like a dragon descending to the sea.
The cabin windows are planets.
The thunder rumbling in the distance making the whole world shake.
The lightning lashing down at the sails.
The hollow star sailed into the unknown.
Barry stared at the burger . Outside the shattered window , a wind swept across the overpopulated town . Cars purred by and on the promenade , grubby papers tumbled along , driven by the wind . The sea rolled up the bare beach , crashing against the moss – covered rocks that fringed the empty shoreline .

I put on the blue mask and I saw
A flamboyant fluttering blue butterfly,
The Pacific Ocean causing tidal waves
And the blue coats in the cloakroom having a tea party.
I put on the orange mask and I saw
The Eye Of Sauron staring down at me,
A tangerine peeling itself
And a million sunsets flickering.
I put on the dark mask and I saw
A thousand shadows preparing to pounce,
A menacing thunder cloud rumbling
And a undead zombie growling.
I put on the pink mask and saw
A unicorn prancing in the clouds,
A cherry blossom tree blooming
And a peony swaying in the wind.
I put on the green mask and I saw
An oak tree towering,
A peppermint dancing on my tongue
And maple leaves in mid summer.
I put on the red mask and I saw
A towering volcano spewing lava,
Red blood dripping out of a bad wound
And a fire dragon terrorising a small ancient village.
I put on the yellow mask and I saw
The vicious sun causing a drought,
A sliver of a lemon causing me to gurn
And a daffodil keeping secrets.
I put on the Rainbow mask and saw
The end of the rainbow,
A trail of all colour butterflies
And the sun shining on a smidge of oil.
Long, long ago there was a poor girl called Polly who lived next to the beach . She had a strange little cottage with a rusty bike but she was happy . Early one morning , Polly went for a walk to collect shells . She collected flat shells , curved shells and thin shells . Suddenly, Polly found the most beautiful shell she had ever seen lying next to a rock pool ! Slowly, Polly bent down to pick up the shell which was glistening in the sun . To her amazement , the shell spoke . “ I will grant you two wishes so choose wisely ! ” said the magnificent shell .
Tonight was a night that everyone will remember . It was all 3 things for 8 nights in a row : rain flooding towns and cities ; waves crashing into the shoreline cracking rocks in two and trees falling , crushing animals . Billy wondered what caused this ; Tom didn’t care at all . Billy , who was determined to find out what caused this , told Tom to get up and help him . The grey sky was full of rain-filled clouds . All of a sudden , Billy looked up and saw a massive crack in the sky . . .
The bus stopped as the storm blew . The old man staggered off the bus while he made his way to the house . He pulled a huge , oversized , golden key out of his pocket and let himself in . He sat down at the table as he waited for them to arrive .
Although it was snowing , I played my trombone .
As there was a bad smell , I bought a gas mask.
Since it was scary , I took my time.
As the snow fell slowly , Tom waited in his flat . All of a sudden , the phone rang . He picked it up and listened whilst he crossed the room . He reached for his suitcase , opened the door , sprinted outside and looked deep into the sky .
Outside’ And ‘Inside’
~Around the edge of the village,a fire was lit in an empty oil drum and surrounded by multiple bandits.
Inside the village,children come to the village square and play together.
~Outside,the snow flows with the wind.
Inside,the fire crackles and lightens the room.
~Above the surface,the giants terrorise cities,towns and villages.
Under the surface,the dwarfs huddle together in fear.
~In the south,the cold water flows and freezes in the wind.
In the north,the snowflakes fall gracefully on to the noses of ice climbers.
~On top of the top of Mount Everest,the oxygen wears out quickly.
On the bottom of Mount Everest,the climbers breathe the fresh freezing air.
