The Geo-Worm

The Geo-Worm is one of the many beasts that has invaded earth in the recent years along with The Hopple, HippoGryphs and many others. This beast was thought to be extinct in 1738 after the Titan-fall (A mass event were all of the Titans were killed). However, it has re-emerged after 282 years of presumed extinction.

Contrary to popular belief, the 700-foot giant (213 metres) is a force certainly not to be reckoned with. It has recently been sighted in most African countries, the most popular ones being Egypt and Zimbabwe, Australia was another that has been sight making scientists believe that they can swim.

How to kill a Geo-Worm

A common question that Scientists or Zoologists is, “How do I kill one is I’m seen by it?” the short answer would be to get to higher grounds i.e a hill, or mountain as it is hard for a Geo-Worm to traverse in rock. A Geo-Worm has a one eye and if you blind it, it will make it harder for them to kill you, but they may also ask, “What about the antennae that they have?” And, that is a problem, but the chances of you seeing one and fighting it are very slim. Geo-Worms tend to stay underground and they use vibrations to hunt. A man named John McCarthey was successful in killing a worm. You probably already know how the story goes. He cuts the eye out, then he cuts the antennae and then he kills it.

A Geo-Worms Diet

A Geo-Worms diet consists of cattle such as Crowcows, Catcows and Crococows. It also eats pigs, sheep, cherki’s, cats and dogs. Another thing that they can eat, but only ever eat it when they absolutely have to is soil, rocks, sand and gravel. They manage this by grinding up the porducts, they swallow the now turned mush and repeat the process as many times as they need.

Additionally, a Geo-Worm slither beneath the surface and one could even be under you right now! They do this by using claws and spade like diggers that are around their body. Furthermore, it has pincers, quite like a crab, to hold its enemies and crush them so they can freely eat them while their dead. As well as, using the pincers to crush their enemies it has a toxic venom inside of the tips of them, they use this to paralyse their prey.

Amazingly, since its re-discovery in the previous years, the population has sky-rocketed and has gone up by 85%! The life expectancy of one of these worms is about 1,350 years! Females normally reproduce 4 to 6 times in their lifespan. They have also been sighted in rockier countries such as Brazil, Canada and Russia.

The Sinticle

A Sinticle is a plant that sprays passer-by’s with toxic gas and pincers to grab hold of their prey. This red menace works as a silent killer. To most creatures the gas is enough to shut down the body and kill them, but some are lucky and can survive the gas.

A Sinticle is very common in caves especially in damp areas. It can also be found near ponds, abandoned mines or houses. It is slightly endangered due to the fact that scientists are trying to replicate its gasses and also that is has an outer layer of red ivory. Additionally, it has sensors around its body to detect its unfortunate victims passing by. Furthermore, it has chromophores that it uses to camouflage into its surroundings.

If you are unfortunate enough to get sprayed by one of these plants then if it is not treated correctly then it could result in death. You would first experience extreme blistering and boils around your skin, then you would feel weak and profusely sweat.

A Sinitcle’s diet is very sctrict, it feeds off of particles that wander into the jaws of this creature. It can also feed off of darkness. Scientists are not 100% sure how this phenomenome  happens, but it does.

Prologue

Pod stared at the nearing G.O.D airship. The dragonfly was puffing out smoke rapidly like a dog eating its dinner, it couldn’t go much further, they all knew it. Pod could see the unmissable face of Parallax that was sitting in the cockpit, and then he heard them launch, a substantially loud howling whistle like a banshee scream. Then, an ear-splitting sound of the dragonfly’s hull being shattered to pieces like a star blowing up in a galaxy far, far away. Pod turned to his master, he grabbed his hand with his frost, eggshell paw, “By my grandad’s tail John, you need to. No, you have to leave now. Leave me, I’m just a mech. You can take my memory chip and build another me. Now, leave!” Pod said with haste, John turned to him and muttered, “I’m sorry, friend.” He pulled a lever and a trapdoor open he took Pod’s paws and threw him out of the dragonfly. Pod looked up to see the dragonfly burst into a red ball of flame and explode into pieces of scrap.

Chapter 3

Waking up Cal found himself in a pitch black room. Looking around (straining his eyes in the process) he saw a lump on the ground, realising that it was Pod he whispered, “Pod, what happened? Where are we,” No answer, “Pod? Is that you?” Still, no reply. Getting the uneasy feeling that if it was Pod he could be out of ticks and there was the possibility that he couldn’t wound up again or, he was in a room with something or someone else. He ambled forwards to the big black bulge on the ground. He saw that it was in fact, his friend, but he was as stiff as a tree branch. Hoping for the best he began turning the key located on his back. A low-level squeak came from the alabaster fox and he began to come to life, “Pod? Are you there? Talk to me.” Cal begged, Pod turned his head towards Cal and rubbed his rusted nose into his arms, after a moment of embracing each other Pod told Cal that they were in a cellar, which, was located at the bottom of Rathbone Manor. Cal had never dared to go down to the cellar because he found it spooky. He also told Cal that he was drugged by the man. Cal asked who he was or if Pod saw his face, but Pod didn’t say anything. Focusing back on searching the room he was determined to escape and get the blueprints back.

“Pod, do you have any paper clips or lock picks by any chance?” Cal asked, expecting the answer to be definite no, “No, why would – you’re trying to escape aren’t you?” Pod was smart, but he never used any of his braininess to good use. Unless it was for food. “And, you won’t be able to escape, the manor is under 24-hour surveillance, you would need to have a master plan to escape.” Cal, ignoring his friend’s advice even though he knew he was right, because he always was, continued his searched for an item. After about 5 minutes he was about to give up when his hand came across a small coal spike that could fit into the lock that was keeping them inside of the cellar. Jamming it into the lock he fiddled around for a bit when it snapped. Pod, about to get to sleep was scared by a deafening wailing sound. Jumping around to see what the noise was he was shocked to find Cal calling out for help, “Help me! Please! Unlock the door! I’ll do anything! Can anyone hear me?” Pod raised his voice over the noise, “Be QUIET! I’m trying to get to sleep!” He commanded. Cal turned to Pod and took a deep breath, Pod knew what was coming, “NO! Why don’t you help me? Because as far as I know if we don’t get those blueprints back the whole world will be in massive trouble and, if you don’t help me this’ll be the last place you get wound up in!” Pod being the smart fox he is, jumped up to on his feet and started shouting with Cal.

After a while they gave up. All hope was lost. They both sat in silence until they heard a noise come from behind the door. Then, the lock clicked, the bolted door of the cellar squeaked open. A scruffy girl appeared in the doorway, “Danny?” Cal said in amazement. And it was in fact Danny, Cal’s childhood friend. “Cal! Long-time no see!” She signalled them to follow her. Together they fled the cellar and ran through a maze of cobwebs that’s when Pod realised there must’ve been another way in and out, “We didn’t come this way when they took us here.” Pod commented, “Yes, there’s another tunnel leading into here, I heard your cries and couldn’t resist helping. They took you underneath and opened a hatch correct?” Pod nodded, “I’ll take you another way. Cal might remember it.” She led them to a staircase and lifted the second step up, underneath was another tunnel. They came to a manhole at the end of the street and climbed out. It hurt their eyes looking at the sun again.

After hours of running through hedges, down hills, up hills and over streams, they came to a stop at a little shack. They rested there for the night and before he went to sleep, he wondered, why did they want the blueprints so much? Why did they care about them? Where was his father?
