Question poem

What are soft?An aloe Vera plant petals, my mum’ furry coat on a cold day and the fur of my black cat Betty as he purrs while I stroke him.

what are hard?Bread that has been left out for too long, a metal hammer that can break cinder blocks in one swing and six 1,000 page books if you tried to punch it

Question poem

What are loud?A music concert at 12:00 at night, a school when the children are at break time and five friends singing their favourite song in the quiet town.

What are quiet?A abandoned house in a dead village, the sound that is heard by a deaf person whenever someone speaks and a colony of ants tiptoeing up a tree.

What is…

What is…?

What is dull? A lonely train stopping at its last station of the day, and the rain falling down on a horrible day.

What is joyful? A dog playfully running in the spring sun, and a boys smile whilst he’s having fun.

What is wide? A clowns big friendly smile greeting people, and the wide open dessert with the sun blazing down.

What is small? A little rabbit on a winter’s day and a piece of fur of a dog after having a groom.

What is lonely? A Friday at school and there’s only one hour left, and a joke that no one laughs at except you.

What is hopeful? a Coronavirus vaccine going to cure someone, and a football game to win.

I will never….

I should never jump into a volcano with steamy hot lava while licking ice cream

but I have excitedly jumped on a trampoline.

I have never bought a paddling pool filled with purple slime

but I have bought slime in a gift shop.

I will never visit every house in world

but I have walked to my nans  house a lot.

I will never land on the moon

but I have in a dream.

I will never….

but I have excitedly jumped on a trampoline.

but I have walked to my nans  house a lot.

I will never land on the moon

but I have in a dream.

I’ve never

I’ve never visited amazing Antarctica

but I have travelled to snowy Scotland.

I’ve never tasted calming coffee

but I have sipped lovely lemonade.

I’ve never seen a fast Ferrari

but I have stared at a luxurious Lamborghini.

I want to paint

I want to paint a slab of beef being devoured in the mouth of Bob,a smelly, dirty pig rolling around in the mud, a furry dog playing in the green grass, a red Porsche with blue  window tint speeding down the highway.

I want to paint green

I want to paint

the taste of a soft sweet pear,

the sound of leafy trees whispering wicked words,

the memory of seeing rain forests from outer space like a green belt around the earth and

the impossibility of chameleons changing colour like traffic lights.

I want to paint…

I want to paint  …

A lime,  long limo like a sleeping lion in the sunset not moving as if it was stuck.

A glistening, green gecko gripping onto a tree like moss in the pitch black, hunting for it’s precious prey

The gargantuan, wet water horse, like a shark in the loch in Scotland.

Part 3

Chapter 3

Barry and Phoebe took cover behind a large grey rock.  Captain Gerald came and pushed them out of the way.  “What did you do that for?” screamed Barry.  “I need to survive if any of us are going to get out of here alive – we need to find my friend John!”

Barry’s head was full of questions flying around like planes in a busy airport.  Who is John? Did Captain Gerald know there were dragons here?  And… how do I get back behind that rock?

Suddenly an old man appeared from out of the mountain and walked towards the rock.  His sooty white beard was straggly like an ungroomed dog.  As he walked past the dragons, they cowered and took a step back.  It was like they were scared of him.  Captain Gerald climbed out from behind the rock and went to greet him.  “Children, this is my friend John.  John Heimdall.” Barry knew who Heimdall was from the books at school.  Heimdall was the protector of Asgard, home to the Norse Gods
