The Arachxcius

The Arachxcius is a lethal, ancient insect, which is causing a lot of scientists around the world to **** their heads at their blank whiteboards. Recently, it was discovered that this insect lives in varying climates, however they are most commonly found in hot, tropical climates-such as the rainforests of Brazil. This insect has never been seen before and we can only see them now because a large eruption boiled all the soil in a rainforest, awakening these insects from their deep sleep-it is thought that there is a numerous amount of these insects living in rainforests all over the world, and we know that they are nothing like anything we have ever even seen before. Now that these insects are no longer in a coma what havoc will they reek upon us? Do you now live in fear of this insect because I think you should.

Venomous information

The arachxcius has two venom injectors that are a dusky orange on the end of its tail which can excrete or inject venom rapidly, so you must be careful. This venom is extremely potent and lethal in one sting it has enough venom to kill fifty grown men. Scientists are rapidly trying to replicate and come up with an antidote for this venom because apparently it would be very useful in warfare.

Radar hair

This insect also has antenna like hairs all over its body which are constantly posed to detect vibrations or sounds in the air and ground. Because of those thin, deceiving hairs-antennas- it is incredibly hard to sneak up on it without it knowing that you are there. This is strange because it doesn’t seem like this insect has any predators, so why would it need those hairs in the first place.

Let’s wing it

The arachxcius has four intricate, delicate wings that it uses to fly with and they are actually incredibly complex and can-like a gecko-change its colour to match its surroundings. They could be anywhere or everywhere.

Need a leg up?

This insect has eight, frail, jet-black legs with which it can move across the ground at unthinkable speeds. Because its eight legs are studded and have amazing movement co-ordination it can climb or move across any surface which is really frightening because that means that there is no wall to wide or too long or too high that can keep these insects at bay if they decide to attack.

Plates for free!

The arachxcius has armoured plates that cover its body making them the most protected things on Earth because the plates that cover their bodies are completely impenetrable and are the strongest substance on Earth. If this material can be replicated it would mean safety for all those brave men and women who fight in those wars for us.

That will be all for now.

Chapter one

Jack had always been arrogant and in desperate need for drama. And it had always been said that the two were a bad combination but Jack just ignored them…then they were proved right- the two were a bad combination, just so much worse than anyone had ever imagined… The day that Jack saw the open door of the Nowhere Emporium and the day that Jack decided to go inside and to become just a little bit to curious.

Jack saw a room of endless wonders , wonders that he wished he could keep or steal or shatter. Things that he loved and loathed. Everything was magnificent like the porcelain dolls, the withered books and the elegant diamonds but the thing that really interested Jack was the whispers… endless and wonderful… faltering and horrifying. It was like he were an infinite being, with all the  knowledge in  the universe, like he was a galactic king and the Nowhere Emporium was his kingdom. Forget about the old, crumpled books that must have seen miracles, or the beautiful, glimmering and shimmering diamonds that must have felt the endless fame that its looks must have brought it, or the quaint, creepy and cracked porcelain dolls that must have felt the sting of rejection so many times… the whispers were the most interesting things haunting, secretive and faltering they must have heard every word ever spoken.

” I see you’ve found the sense to hear my whispers, ” rasped an old man. Jack spun around shocked and saw an old man silhouetted by the shadow of an arch. He made an approving yet angry noise. Everything in the room seemed to dull for a moment, as if in disappointment, approval, anger but most of all shock and puzzlement.

Prologue

He had always heard that there were some places that no-one should ever go…The Nowhere Emporium was one of them.

Perhaps at rare events, some of the antique and unique treasures that were hidden there would be revealed…if only just to tempt people…just to lure people…just to trap people. Sometimes you could see all the gold, all the silver and all the intricate, beautiful diamonds shining…even going so far as to glow, like a thousand suns, dancing magnificently. Perhaps all the creepy porcelain dolls and the stuffed exotic animals put people off. Perhaps the haunting, blackened ivory door that seemed to be shrouded in mist, was a bit scary… or the shallow, raspy whispers that seemed to keep on following you all the way there until you turned back, was a bit disturbing. Perhaps maybe that to was the reason that no-one ever went there…

Until Tack got curious.

People say that curiosity killed the cat- let’s hope that Jack is luckier then that cat or… he’s got no hope.

In the room of…?

In the room of…?, I gazed at the curiosities that met my eyes, what was this place?

In the room of fame, I hid in the dark of the stage.

In the room of hollow things, I felt my life begin to change.

In the room of mysteries, I began to become a mystery myself.

In the room of illuminescent galaxies, I hid in the interior of a blackhole.
